Stay: Early Feb 2026 The good: - The staff, each member of the staff were friendly, professional and a real credit to the hotel. In fact when our ride to the airport was delayed they were so helpful and went above and beyond to lend us their car seat and order a new taxi to ensure we made our flight. - The food, we tried the French, Polynesian and buffet throughout our stay and all were lovely. I’m usually not a fan of buffets but this one was good! - The room was tastefully decorated and the ceilings were nice and high (we stayed in a luxury garden view room). - The pool area always had sufficient chairs whatever time of day. The bad: - Not a criticism of the hotel but across the water from Sofitel a new giant hotel/casino is being built so the view is somewhat impacted by this construction and building work which is a shame. However, I wouldn’t let this deter you from staying. - The queue at egg station in the mornings can be long. Areas for possible improvement: - I had to look really hard for things here, but I would suggest when the rooms ultimately come to be refurbished then not having white/cream sofas which show marks would be a good idea! I feel in doing so currently it dates the room more than is fair. - Thicker toilet paper. - Getting a drink at the buffet can be challenging as you aren’t automatically asked and had to flag down a waiter. Overall I would gladly recommend the Sofitel for a stay in RAK.

Genuinely one of the best hotel experiences I've had in a while. The villas are stunning! we had a huge room with a direct view over the beach, which never got old. The grounds are lush and green. Lovely to walk around. The beach is huge and relaxed. Every restaurant we tried was excellent, and that's not something I say lightly. The food was consistently outstanding across the board. Both pools are massive and kept beautifully cold, which was exactly what we needed. There's a certain 'bougie but not pretentious' vibe to the whole place that I really loved...elevated without being stuffy. Every single member of staff we encountered was warm and genuinely helpful. We went for the all-inclusive and it was absolutely worth it!! unlimited drinks, incredible food, and you just never feel like you're being nickelled and dimed. Honestly wish I'd discovered this place years ago. Will definitely be back.

We just returned from the most wonderful family stay at Sofitel RAK and honestly, it exceeded every expectation. The location is simply spectacular! Gorgeous beaches right on your doorstep and a pool setup that genuinely caters to everyone, from the little ones to the adults looking for a moment of peace. In the evening, the music kicks off and a whole new and wonderful experience begins full delicious drinks and great vibes. The water slides were the undisputed highlight for our 4-year-old daughter Lilian. She was there from morning to evening, every single day, and even made some lovely little friends along the way. But what really set this stay apart was the people. The staff were warm, genuinely friendly, and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Always with a smile and never making you feel like anything was too much to ask. Sofitel RAK has officially become our go-to family staycation spot and we cannot wait to come back.

We had a wonderful stay at Sofitel Al Hamra. The highlight for us was definitely the pool area – it was incredibly peaceful, relaxing, and the perfect place to unwind. The atmosphere throughout the resort is calm and beautifully maintained, making it an ideal escape from the busy city life. A special thank you to Swami, who looked after us exceptionally well during our stay. He was always polite, attentive, and genuinely friendly. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and he went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and enjoying our time at the resort. Excellent service, a beautiful setting, and a truly relaxing experience. We would happily return and highly recommend Sofitel Al Hamra to anyone looking for a tranquil getaway.
