Spent 6 nights here at the beginning of June ans was very impressed with location. We had easy access to trains restaurants and shopping. Service was of a standard you would expect from a 5 star hotel We stayed in a Junior suite which other than being dated was spacious and well appointed. Our only negative was the wait times to have breakfast especially over the weekends this could be 30 min or more at 7.30 in morning. This is a 5 star establishment and they need to do better

I did not have a good experience at this hotel. It really takes alot for me to write a negative review and this will be the first. I ordered Uber Eats because I was planning to spend the evening working. The delivery driver could not wait long and informed me he would leave the order at the entrance. Unfortunately, I did not realize he had placed it directly on the floor outside the front entrance. When I went downstairs to pick it up and started walking back toward the stairs, a doorman suddenly approached me and loudly said in front of other guests: “You are not supposed to leave food in front of the hotel. Next time, take the order directly from the delivery person. Don’t you know this is a hotel?” I was honestly shocked by how the situation was handled. Instead of calmly explaining the issue, I was publicly embarrassed in front of other guests over something I did not intentionally do. The interaction completely ruined my mood and I could not even enjoy the meal afterward. I have stayed at many hotels around the world, including much lower-rated properties, and I have never been spoken to this way by staff. During this same trip, I also stayed at Hotel New Otani Tokyo and had an excellent experience there, which made this interaction even more disappointing. Japan is known for hospitality and politeness, especially at luxury hotels, so this was very unexpected. I sincerely hope the staff member involved reflects on how guests are treated and approaches situations like this with more professionalism and respect in the future.

I stayed there from June 7th to June 9th, 2026, on a business trip. It truly lives up to its name: Imperial Hotel Tokyo. You will feel like you're living in a castle and during your stay, the staff treats you like royalty. The location is very strategic. It is close to major transit hubs like Tokyo Station and is within walking distance of Hibiya Station, do some morning walks at the nearby parks or even shopping at the malls in the Ginza area. You can even take the airport bus directly to this hotel. The staff members are very friendly and always have smiles on their faces. I hope to visit this hotel again!

Very convenient location, right next to the palace and the view is magnificent! The hotel itself is very old school, you won’t have the latest technology but the most balanced combination of eastern and western hospitality. There was a little thing that happened during my stay when a cleaning lady came into the room when I was changing, found out she was going to leave a notice saying there will be glass cleaning today but somehow didn’t know I was in the room… Everything else was perfect! The flower display at the front of the reception was beautiful 😇

I really enjoyed our stay in imperial hotel. It is very dated, however one can say it’s charming art deco cuteness. Also by far the cleanest 5 star hotels we stayed. Under the bed, bathrooms, top of head boards, every where has been impeccably cleaned. If they updated the TV, lighting and power point it would actually make it considerably more comfortable. Unsure if the building is so old it may not be easily done. Also considering the location and price room size is larger than typical Tokyo hotel. My child love having a bath tub in hotels. Location is great, $1000 to $1500 via taxi from Tokyo station. Service is what makes it 5 star and we ended up staying here twice during our 2 week stay in Japan. We initially stayed two night, but because of the dated building my partner wanted to change the last night back to Tokyo to Tokyo station hotel, also we were returning to Tokyo via Shinkansen from Nara. However glad we decided to stay here again. You get so tired in Japan as there is so much to do and your luggage grows, you get a little cranky, it’s lovely to return to somewhere everyone is so accommodating and thoughtful.
