Not a great resort. We will never come back and suggest you look to other resorts like the Mövenpick for your holiday / vacation. It's not like the photos and the things you'd expect from a resort are sub-par e.g. the service, food, location, rooms, and ammenities. It's definitely not worth a 6-star rating - I'm not sure how they were able to achieve such a high rating. The costs are astronomical for the quality - we've stayed in many resorts on Bali island as we've visited the island at least 14 times. There are way better resorts on way better parts of the island like Jimbaran and Seminyak. At the Mirage, to begin our stay, the concierge didn't help us carry our bags up the stairs to check in and no one was there to greet us as we expect from staying at resorts like the Mövenpick in Jimbaran, among others. This was not a great introduction to the supposed 6-star resort. We have a family, but my children are teenagers. The hotel knew this, but still put us on the side with the little kids - which is disconnected via a 5 minute walk to the actual resort side. It was noisy, kids were playing games where they ring your doorbell and run away - it was all around unpleasant. The walk to the resort side is also unpleasant as it's in public areas. This mean that along the walk, beach side or using the footpath on the road, you get hassled by local vendors - it's unavoidable. Even if you do walk to the resort side, the food options are terrible - the restaurants look nice in terms of decor, but the food is not at all good - and it's over priced. If you're on the detached family side, there is only the pool bar and restaurant which is not open for dinner - it's also terrible - unhealthy fried foods - substandard quality. Further, the location is terrible - everything out side of the resort is horrible, dirty, not places you want to visit We went to the resort side and got sick from the drinks as they had presumably unfiltered, non bottled water, ice - which in Bali means there is a good chance you will get sick. The breakfast on the family side is also terrible. Again, to get a decent breakfast, you have to walk to the resort side. For meals, we ended up ordering local food via Grab (Indonesia's Uber Eats). The room we stayed in was okay. But we had to ask to be moved. The original room we were in was just above the family recreation center, so very loud with annoying kids and families that had no idea the impact they were having on everyone else. Especially the ping-pong table. Imagine staying in a resort with families playing ping pong outside of your room. Unacceptable. It's a terrible design. We ended up asking if we could cancel our reservation as we new other parts of Bali were much nicer with better resorts and much more cost effective - of the thousands of dollars we paid, they offered us only a $200 refund - but that was only after paying $200 a night fee for the room upgrade. Just a horrible resort - stay away.

Family-Friendly Facilities If you have kids under 10 years old, it's best to stay on the family side of the Grand Mirage. The kids' club was a great fit for our children, keeping them entertained and happy during our stay. When we needed a break, we found the resort's nanny service very helpful—it can be booked directly through the resort, providing peace of mind for parents needing some time out. Dining Options Although the food is generally better in the main Resort, the walk to the other side is only about three minutes. We found the Jukung restaurant to be the standout choice for meals. Getting Around If you plan to visit Waterbom or do anything in the Kuta area with the kids, you'll need to arrange transport. A taxi or driver is necessary, as it's about a 30-minute ride from the resort. Value and Inclusions We rated the value slightly lower because not everything at the resort is all inclusive. For example, Singaraja beers are included instead of the trusty Bintang. Pool Bar Both sides of the resort have pool bars, but they only operate until 5.30pm, after which the bar service moves to the restaurants. Room Arrangements We stayed in a family room with bunks, which worked well for our kids. Importantly, the room was secure, as the children did not have access to outside or their own door to leave the room.

We enjoyed our stay at Grand Mirage. We booked the ocean view room during our 8 days vacation in Bali and it was worth it. The room was big and spacious, the Breakfast was good with plenty of choices, the lazy river, the infinity pool, all was good. We noticed there was Few times entertainment night during the week through weekend. Staff was helpful, the security did a great job too. Our only dissappointment was with the motorbike park. We rented motorbike fr easily moving around, n the parking area fr the guest is outside the hotel, altough its written for hotel guest only but seems like the staff also park it there, their park site is just next to it, so its understandable. One morning, we wanted to go out but then we couldn't find our bike, we thought is gone missing, but actually someone have moved it to the staff parking site and because too much motorbike around it we could not move it. I think they should let us the guest, to park the motorbike in the hotel area, as we saw plenty area outside the hotel that can be use for one, we paid premium we should be treated better too. Otherwise all was good. Recommended for family with children.

My guest stayed at Grand Mirage Resort, and I picked them up directly from the hotel for a private tour. The lobby was beautifully decorated with a Christmas tree, creating a warm and festive atmosphere. The hotel building is an older style, but this is exactly what my guest liked. It has a classic Bali resort feeling, warm, comfortable, and full of character. The beachfront atmosphere is relaxing, the hotel is clean and well maintained, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The location is very convenient with easy access for pickup, making the tour smooth and on time. Still not sure how this is considered a 5 star Resort after our experience. 3 star at best. It's big, it's on the beach and everything has an esthetic appeal but that's about it. Might be a great place to stay if you're 60+ and you feel safe in a Resort setting with flavorless food. The best food we had here was still worse than the worst food we had in Ubud. The best thing about this Resort is that you can go to the better, family Resort next door where there's much better food. Our room flooded (toilet water. Sewer pupe burst?) along with about 7 others within our first 2 hours here and we had to walk through the sewer water with all of our stuff repacked and they offered us an upgraded room which just meant a room without a view 2 floors up (after paying for a room with a pool view and a lounger). We fought the front desk for a better room and finally got one with a pool and ocean view but no more lounger and on the top floor. They then tried to move us again the next day for a 4th time but we declined because we were, again, unpacked fully and didn't care about a bigger room. Their offer, after walking through a totally flooded, sewer water room with our bags, was a 10% refund and a dinner on the beach lol. I fought back and got 15% and DO NOT PAY FOR THE ROMANTIC DINNER ON THE BEACH. We now see why they offered it so easily. The chairs were flimsy and kept sinking into the sand, the table was sideways for the entire dinner and the food was just ok although it was better than anything they served inside. The live entertainment every night was live music by local bands singing songs from the 60s and 70s and there were so many bugs on the food that the workers were constantly picking them off all night. I know that can't be controlled but so much but still didn't want to make me eat too much. The drinks at this "5 star" Resort are bottom shelf at best and they're not all that great. The best drinks are at the lazy bar next to the spa a driver lazy river. The spa was amazing but the prices are 10 times what they are right across the street and everywhere around. You can go in town and get a massage for 100k idr which is about 8usd and they are GOOD! This Resort is one of the most beautifully cheap resorts I've ever stayed in. They also say non motorized water sports are included but when we went to check with their kiosk outside, they aren't (at least not according to the people outside). We ended up only getting paddle boarding included so I guess not a total loss. The fire show at Rama live was nice although they had to modify it and had it on the patio because of rain and the workers go above and beyond for anything you need. The workers are honestly the best part about this Resort so make sure and tip them because, as I've said previously, the resort is very cheap so I'm sure they don't pay the workers much. Not a single drink is worth what they charge so we didn't buy any of them beyond what was free for the all inclusive for fear we wouldn't like them either. If you're looking for a better place to stay, the Hilton Garden Inn down the street and the one by the airport are much nicer than this place and the food is 10 times better. Save your money and go anywhere else in my opinion
