The stay at the hotel was definitely enjoyable. There are a few things to improve, such as not receiving a map of the property during check-in (when it's your first time at the hotel, directions like "straight ahead and to the right" don't help much). It would be enough to provide the building name and a map. Also, the lunchbox wasn't prepared for us. The receptionist wrote it down on a scrap of paper and didn't follow up on it. The main priority for the morning shift was finding someone to blame, instead of preparing those few sandwiches and the box with vegetables (which took 35 minutes). New Year's Eve was fine, though the DJ could have started earlier. The band didn't really fit the dancing atmosphere, and the performances weren't much different from what is usually offered. But aside from that, it was beautiful: a wonderful ocean beach, unforgettable sunrises and sunsets. Great surf lesson. The food was tasty and every day we could try a different cuisine. The staff was very kind.

A Wonderful Arabian Escape in Salalah Fanar Hotel and Residences exceeded all our expectations during our recent stay in Salalah. This beautiful five-star resort sits directly on a pristine private beach with stunning views of the Indian Ocean, offering the perfect blend of luxury and authentic Omani hospitality. The rooms are spotlessly clean and spacious, featuring thoughtful touches like Omani carved interiors and terraces overlooking either the lagoon or the mountains. Our deluxe room was exceptionally comfortable, with luxurious bed linens and all the modern amenities we needed. What truly sets Fanar apart is the exceptional service. The staff members are genuinely warm and attentive, making every effort to ensure guests feel welcome and cared for. From the beach bar to the restaurants, everyone we encountered was professional and friendly. The hotel’s facilities are impressive (including multiple pools, a spa, and diverse dining options), and the location is ideal for families, couples, and business travelers alike. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and we particularly enjoyed the Mediterranean restaurant for dinner. Whether you’re looking to relax on the beach, explore Salalah, or simply enjoy world-class amenities in a peaceful setting, Fanar Hotel and Residences delivers a truly memorable experience. Great location. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Nice facilities. This hotel collaborates with three other hotels in the area so you can visit all the restaurants. The marina is also right on the doorstep of this hotel with lots of food options and boats. Downsides: It was very full on our trip with bus loads of European tourists that came for Christmas celebrations checking in every day. It was great for them, but if you don't like crowds, maybe this isn't the right place. There is no control over some guests' smoking habits in all areas - there should be designated areas for this, away from children and non-smokers! The beds in the rooms are super firm, like sleeping on the floor, so it was rather uncomfortable. The cleaning staff don't speak such great English so they can misunderstand what is needed, e.g. bringing us an extra coffee mug. While this is a lovely place to visit, it is void of anything Omani. It is completely tailored to foreign guests so it does not have an authentic feeling. I can't say that I know what it's like to experience Omani hospitality after this visit, which is disappointing.

Overall an okay stay with Fanar. Let's start with the negatives. Parking situation can be absolutely horrendous, especially during Khareef seasons. The number of rooms far exceeds the limited amount of parking bays. The room itself was large, so big that you could fit another king bed in there. Unfortunately, the rooms are a little worse for wear. The resort feels old and not really maintained. Service was good, we arrived late in the morning and the bellboy was kind to bring our bags to our room. There's lots of amenities and facilities in the resort that we didn't actually use. The location is a little further from the city so you'd need to add an extra 15mins to all your other locations. Also, skip the breakfast buffet in Sinbad. Possibly the worst breakfast we've had, in a while. Not sure how they got their 5 star rating.

Our holiday at Hotel Fanar was absolutely wonderful and fulfilled all our wishes. There was nothing we missed – everything was perfectly organized and always with a smile. Staff: • The guys at the pool bar, especially Ravi and Adel, were always friendly, cheerful, and provided excellent service every day. • In the SPA, Edam took great care of us — his smile and sense of humor created the perfect relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed four amazing massages that we can highly recommend. • The night receptionist Khaled managed to make even the impossible possible – his professionalism was outstanding. Accommodation and facilities: Our room was perfectly cleaned and beautifully scented every day. The beaches are stunning, the pools are spotless, and the entire hotel is well-maintained and peaceful. Experiences: Special thanks also to the activity team for organizing a wonderful trip – we saw camels living freely in nature, flamingos, enjoyed a private beach barbecue on a deserted shore, and an exciting quad bike ride. Overall, we rate our holiday 10 out of 10. We truly recommend Hotel Fanar to anyone looking for relaxation, excellent service, and the beautiful atmosphere of Oman.
