The most perfect place. Beautiful views and surroundings, wonderful service and staff. A much improved restaurant from last year. All your needs are met here. It is not suitable if you have mobility problems, as it is very steep. They do offer lifts in a golf buggy though. Some areas could do with a lick of paint and refurbishment but the villas themselves are fabulous. What makes this place extra special though is the staff who all go the extra mile towards making your holiday as perfect as possible.

We are a family of four and recently stayed in the Seafront Villa at Elounda Gulf Villas. The villa itself was beautifully renovated, spacious, very comfortable, and had excellent air conditioning. One thing to note is that this villa is the only one not located on the main resort property. It’s in Tsifliki, about a 10–15 minute drive from the hotel’s breakfast area and facilities. We didn’t mind the drive at all—in fact, we sometimes walked (about 2 miles and some hills) —and enjoyed having a little more privacy. The location worked well for us. It’s about a mile from Plaka and roughly 30 minutes from Agios Nikolaos. We ended up changing a few dinner reservations from Agios Nikolaos to Plaka because of the distance, but that turned out to be a great decision. Plaka is a beautiful little village with a relaxed atmosphere, and we found ourselves spending a lot of time there. The villa has a private pool, which management kindly heated for us, although it never got quite as warm as we expected. In hindsight, with the beach literally steps away, we probably wouldn’t bother paying for pool heating again. The beach is somewhat rocky when you first enter the water, but it quickly becomes easier underfoot. We didn’t find water shoes necessary but some people had. We also really enjoyed the beach club. It’s fairly small, but that was part of its charm—it was never crowded and always felt peaceful. Both Georges at the beach club were incredibly accommodating and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. A special thank you to Despina and Stella from reservations and concierge services. We had to make numerous changes to our plans before our arrival and during, and they were always quick to respond, patient, and helpful. Louise at the front desk was equally wonderful and helped with anything we needed during our stay. The breakfast was good with many options including fresh squeezed orange juice and Prosecco. The bread offerings was good as well as the choice of eggs. The breakfast team was responsive and accommodating. Shout out to Georgina who deserves a mention for making fantastic flat whites every morning, along with some of the best iced lattes we had during our trip. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and loved both the villa and the surrounding area. The combination of privacy, beautiful scenery, excellent service, and proximity to Plaka made for a memorable family vacation in Crete.

Our special holiday was made even better by our stay here. This is a beautiful boutique resort with charming villas, stunning views, immaculate gardens, and a peaceful atmosphere. Its elevated location offers exceptional scenery, while still being conveniently close to local attractions and beautiful beaches. Our experience did not start perfectly. We encountered some challenges communicating our disability and special requirements with the reservations and front office teams, and we were initially disappointed with how some birthday arrangements were handled. However, what truly made the difference was the response from the General Manager, Mr Hatzikostas Achilleas. He took the time to listen carefully to our feedback, showed genuine empathy, and took full ownership of the situation. His professionalism, accountability, and commitment to guest satisfaction completely turned our experience around and made us feel genuinely valued. The hospitality throughout the resort was excellent. Ismail, Despina, and Irenaeus were all welcoming and attentive, while Mr Yorgos in the evening restaurant made my birthday dinner particularly memorable through his professionalism and excellent menu recommendations. The restaurant was one of the highlights of our stay. Breakfast featured high-quality local produce, including freshly squeezed orange juice, eggs made to order, excellent coffee, local cheeses, Greek pies, and plenty of fresh fruit. The team was consistently friendly and attentive, and we never felt rushed. Combined with the sea views and tranquil surroundings, every meal was a pleasure. Although the beach club is located a short distance away, the shuttle service was convenient and the experience was well worth it. The beach and pool facilities were well maintained, and the attentive service, including thoughtful touches such as complimentary bottled water, reflected the resort's high standards. The villas were spacious, comfortable, and well equipped, with quality linens, bathrobes, toiletries, daily water replenishment, and lovely balconies. Housekeeping was receptive to feedback and ensured a comfortable stay throughout. As Hilton Diamond members, we have stayed at many excellent properties, but this resort stands out because of the genuine care shown by its team. More than anything, we appreciated the senior management's willingness to listen, take responsibility, and make improvements. We left with wonderful memories and would happily return to experience this exceptional Greek hospitality again.

We recently stayed at this resort and unfortunately it did not meet our expectations of a 5-star experience. The biggest disappointment was the room. We were given a superior suite with a truly beautiful view, but the overall condition was quite outdated and poorly maintained. From almost every angle, signs of wear and lack of upkeep were clearly visible, which really took away from the experience. Considering the price we paid (around €300 per night), the value for money is simply not there. After the first night, we would have preferred to cancel the rest of our stay, but this was not accepted due to the booking conditions. Another disappointing moment was when we had the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door, yet two maintenance workers suddenly tried to enter the room. Fortunately, the safety latch was on so they could not come inside. Apparently housekeeping had reported that the sofa needed repair, but no one had informed us this would happen. We found this very inappropriate and intrusive. That said, there are also positives. The staff were genuinely kind, helpful, and did their best to assist us throughout our stay, which we appreciated. The breakfast was also very good in terms of quality, although it only starts at 08:30, which may be a bit late for some guests. Overall, while the service was friendly and the views are great, the resort falls short of what you would expect from a 5-star property, especially at this price point.

i have nothing but positive things to say about Elounda Gulf Villas. we were so grateful for the welcoming service we received during our stay there. the staff are lovely and helpful (they helped me with a birthday surprise, see cake picture). the villas are spacious, the site of them is private and peaceful. upgrading your villa is something we recommend as you are able to enjoy more amenities such as a heated pool (if you can afford to do so). car park is available. it truly is a relaxing place to stay. breakfast included a great variety such as beans, pancakes, fruit etc. room service is efficient. for our first time in Greece, we wanted somewhere we could unwind and spend each day relaxing- we got exactly that here and we are so glad! thank you to all the staff who made our holiday as great as it was. we appreciated the morning’s we heard from every single person we walked past on our way to breakfast!
