Very disappointing stay – nothing like the pictures We stayed at Barceló Ponent Beach and unfortunately left very disappointed. The hotel looks completely different online compared to what we experienced in person. The pictures are extremely misleading — especially when it comes to the pool, which is much, much smaller than it appears online. It honestly felt like catfishing. The cleanliness was one of the biggest problems. Our room was dirty, with stained floors, dirty pillows, and dirty walls. The ventilation was completely covered in dust, which was honestly one of the worst parts. The toilet flush also did not work properly. We also experienced problems with cleanliness around the hotel. There were dirty plates, and sometimes the plates were still wet and had stains on them. The pool area was also disappointing. The fight for pool loungers can get completely out of hand because there simply aren’t enough places for everyone. The pool area downstairs by the sea also smelled strongly of sewage, which was very unpleasant. The entire hotel often smelled strongly of chemicals, and the water in the bathroom smelled heavily of chlorine. The pool in the wellness area was also not clean. At the beginning of our stay, we received a VIP Guest Card stating that we could stay in our room until 3:00 PM on the day of departure. However, this was not honored. We were asked to leave the room earlier, and when we asked why, we were not given a proper explanation. The one positive thing we can say is that the entertainment staff were very good. They were friendly, energetic and did a great job entertaining the guests. Overall, we are very disappointed with our stay. The hotel did not live up to the expectations created by the pictures and information online, and the cleanliness and maintenance issues were simply not acceptable for us.

We chose to stay in this hotel based off a previous Barcelo stay, and we are quite disappointed! The buffet food is hit & miss! We had no option to do only b&b, had to do half board! Staff are lovely however some bash their way around the restaurant. We have a family room overlooking the beach which is fab, room is modern. However, the overhead shower head doesn’t work.The AC in the rooms is basically non existent it’s a set function you can’t control, we had to ask for a fan. You rent your Towels for the pool, we got 2 newer ones and two older ones with holes in them, you have to pay a €5 deposit & a €2 cleaning fee if you need to change them! The lifts take a while to arrive , we’ve had to carry the buggy down the stairs on most trips. The Location of the hotel is great, it’s a short walk into the main town. The hotel has access to a stunning beach, ideal for babies, really calm with no waves.

Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It’s very run-down and basic with damaged walls, rubbish, stained carpets and poor bathrooms, I’d say it’s more of a 2/3 star hotel than a 4 star. The reception staff were incredibly rude and unfriendly, they refused to help us with arranging taxis and provided no guidance. There were also loads of cockroaches around the hotel during our stay. There was no air conditioning running throughout most of the hotel, which made the communal areas really uncomfortable, and multiple guests were complaining about it while we were there. There’s no porter service either, so you have to drag your suitcases up a steep hill and flights of stairs yourself, which isn’t ideal, especially in the heat. The sunbeds are all crammed together, and unless you’re out reserving one at around 6am, you’ll struggle to get a decent spot. The pools are small and overcrowded, so we ended up paying to go to beach clubs instead. The beach is not owned by the hotel and you have to pay for beach beds, the reception staff failed to mention this and mislead us which was frustrating! The food was okay but nothing special, and even the drinking water around the hotel was always warm, with no cold water available, which was really disappointing in the heat. Overall, the hotel just didn’t live up to its 4 star rating. We were really disappointed with our stay and wouldn’t return.

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely incredible. The views are breathtaking, and the food is delicious with so many options to choose from. However, the absolute best part of the resort is the animation team! There are fun activities happening at all hours of the day, including amazing pool parties and a fantastic silent party. The nightly shows are completely professional and so entertaining! A huge shoutout to the amazing team who made our vacation unforgettable: DJ Shaggy kept the energy high, the choreographer La profe is brilliant, and the chief Barbie runs everything perfectly. Special thanks to the wonderful entertainment staff Capuchino, Koko Loco, Shakira, Macarena, Papi Chulo, Nutella, and Brasil you are all stars! We can't wait to come back!

I genuinely feel like the entertainment team at Barceló Ponent Beach deserve the biggest possible amount of credit. I’m only 5 days into my holiday and I honestly cannot believe how hard these guys work. They are absolutely relentless. Every single day there is something going on and somehow their energy never seems to drop. The variety is incredible too, from Latin music to current hits, different styles, games, shows and entertainment that genuinely caters for everyone, no matter what language you speak. I actually got up on the stage myself and did one song of karaoke. ONE SONG. 😂 I came off feeling like I was going to suffocate in the heat and I was exhausted. Then you watch this team perform a 30 song series, singing, dancing and giving absolutely everything they have, and they make it look like it was an hour’s work. It honestly makes you realise just how much effort they put in behind the scenes. They are working in ridiculous heat, day after day, and somehow still come out with huge smiles, incredible energy and enthusiasm. I genuinely don’t think they are paid enough for how hard they work. They don’t just perform and disappear either. They come out afterwards and interact with the crowd, get involved with guests and genuinely make everyone feel included. You can see that they care about creating a good atmosphere and making sure people are enjoying themselves. I’ve even got videos from my stay because I genuinely want to remember how good they have been. They have mentioned that they don’t even know if they will be here next year, and honestly, if they aren’t, it will be a massive loss for this hotel. To the entire entertainment team, THANK YOU. You are so hardworking, so talented and your energy is genuinely infectious. I really hope the hotel management see this and understand just how valuable you are. You deserve recognition, appreciation and honestly, you deserve to be paid more. Five days into my holiday and you have already been one of the biggest highlights of my stay. Please don’t ever underestimate how much guests notice the effort you put in. Absolutely outstanding team. You deserve every single bit of praise you get. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
