We really enjoyed our stay at Sugar Bay. Great and amazing hotel. The whole staff and management are so nice, professional and accommodating. They made our stay wonderful and relaxing. It’s in a great location right on Hastings. The pool and beach area is chill and relaxing. The bartenders at both beach bars and Pool bar made the best drinks!! The buffets at the Reef restaurant were amazing, with lots of menu options. Also loved the lunch menus at the beach restaurant. The whole facility and rooms are always clean. Staff, Food, drinks, beach and pool are spot on.

I’m writing this review because the reviews were a big part of my decision making on my vacation . I am so glad I decided on Sugar Bay ! When we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms and a nice cold beer Natalie at the reception was absolutely amazing. She explained everything to us regarding the hotel and then a wonderful gentleman I believe his name was Dave showed that to our room and just explained a few details. The room was nicely decorated and very clean. We had a balcony overlooking the ocean the view was stunning. The beach it’s absolutely beautiful. There are plenty of chairs and umbrellas on the beach .The Reef bar was right on the beach which serves delicious frozen drinks and had amazing bartenders Re-Shawn , Damion and Xavier to name a few . The fruit kabobs serves on the beach was a nice treat. The pool was nice with a swim up bar but we spent most of our time at the beach .The buffet breakfast,lunch and dinner were served in the Reef restaurant. There was a wide selection of food I personally I think there was something for everyone. There are three restaurants and during your stay you can have one dinner at the one of your choice . We chose Sizzle steakhouse where I ate one of the best steaks I ever had. There was also great nightly entertainment . The entire staff was fantastic ! There was always someone to help you with anything needed. We felt really safe at this resort with all the security walking around .If you are looking for a fun yet very relaxing vacation this is definitely the place .I would recommend this resort to anyone visiting Barbados.

We just returned from a week long stay. We also had some family come down with us -we were a group of 12. Overall we were really happy with our stay at Sugar Bay!! Our room was close to the pool (not oceanfront), it was a bit dated (bathroom especially) but it was always very clean. We are a family of 4 with 2 kids that are 10 and 15. The room worked great for us, we had a cot and used the pullout couch as well. A small minor issue is a lot of people in our group kept having the bracelets either come off or untie. I love the idea of the room key that stays on but it might be a good idea to look for a more sturdy material. When my parents arrived they gave them a room on the 4th floor but I requested they be moved and they were very willing to accommodate. My mother recently had a hip replacements and there was a lot of stairs getting all the way up the 4th floor (and one place without a stair railing). I will say they promptly switched them rooms,and we appreciated their flexibility. The a la carts (Umi and Sizzle) were both fantastic!!! It was a bit slower for service but we are a group fo 12 so that always takes longer to serve a large group. The food at the resort in general was amazing. So much variety and options. I think the food was one of the highlights!!! The staff there are all courteous and friendly. The bay was beautiful and the kids enjoyed snorkeling and seeing fish. The water varied from being calm to rough quite often. We were also fortunate not to have any sargassum during our stay but it showed up the last day. Our kids preferred the pool so we mainly hung around there. The pool is stunning and they had a blast playing in it. All in all, we are glad we chose Sugar Bay for our resort during our trip to Bardados. Thank you for the memories!!! We would definitely recommend!! It was a great balance of liveliness and relaxation which can be hard to come by.

First and foremost, I want to sing the praises of the staff at Sugar Bay; such wonderful people. My wife and I loved our time at Sugar Bay. Overall I thought the food was great; kudos to the kitchen staff. The buffet at The Reef was fresh with great flavors and ever changing options during our time. We enjoyed lunches at Colin’s Bar/Grill with some local inspired daily specials. We also enjoyed Valentines seafood dinner at Sizzle Steakhouse; lobster and blackened snapper. Most nights there was talented musical entertainment. One night had fire dancers. Resort had plenty of beach lounge chairs and the ocean was a refreshing temperature in February. The sports/beach team would bring out an umbrella on request. And one morning I walked down to see the racehorses swimming at Pebbles Beach; just a ~15minute walk.

Im giving 2 stars because me and my husband were treated unfair 2 out of the 5 nights that we were here. I was told that I could not enter in for lunch with my coverup,although I had the same cover up on for breakfast and it was not a problem. I am a colored girl that may be a lottle more voluptuous than others if that make sense, but that is unfair for them to tell me to cover up "a little more" when everyone else can walk around in a bikini with a cover up. The food and majority of the staff workers were great. In fact me and my husband tipped over $100 in USD for meals on the resort prior to these events occurring . That wasnt even taking into consideration. There was barely any music played near the pool, no real entertainment otjer than the night time shows. As a family 4/5 star resort, there should be entertainmemt throughout the resort and in the pool and beach area. We have been all over the Caribbean and this has been the worst by far.Our flight changed for later in tje evening and wr asked for a late checkout, which is only 1 hour later than the regular checkout amd that was denied. They cater to the senior citizen community. The 2 stars were given for the food. The food was better than the local food and we tipped 20% based on that because that's what we would have done in the U.S.
