I went there as a family of four, and the kids loved it! We liked it, and it is all inclusive. There are quite a few restaurants nearby, a beach, and two pools. The room that we stayed in was big enough, but not a whole lot of room to spare. Plenty of stuff to do, including swimming, a waterpark, chill, snack, soft play and much more. I loved the design of the hotel as well. It was all very good. Thanks to the team at Sol Katmandu as your help was excellent

The hotel come resort finds itself 2 streets away from what was known as ' the strip' in Magaluf's hey day. The strip is where all the clubs and bars were that made Magaluf infamous. Local authorities have cleaned the area up and whilst the strip still exists it is a very faint copy of what was in its hey day. The beach and seafront in Magaluf are very clean. There's an assortment of bars overlooking the beach separated by a wide path that people tend to walk up and down on in the evenings. In the hotel you will not want want for food. The dining room stays open longer than most hotels and the menu and offerings are considerable. The dining room staff are very very hardworking and extremely polite, helpful and friendly. Portions are as much as you can eat. There are ample activities for children and lots of adventures to try. The activity staff are keen and enthusiastic and keep the children engaged. More than 80% of the guests are English. In the evenings there's stage shows outside - and often a live band inside - all at the same time. Outside - Magaluf is a bit run down in parts ( resembling a UK seaside town ) and in others very modern and stylish. The hotel reception staff are nearly always busy - there's always a group checking in or out. They could do with a concierge to answer simple questions or if you need to book a restaraunt or have a problem to solve - the wait for reception can often be tedious and at times fruitless. I think 4 or 5 days is enough - a week can start to drag especially as children very quickly get fed up no matter what there is to do. Don't go expecting Disneyland. Expect a very simple theme park for small children. After a week there is no unquenched thirst that makes me want to return. Although there is no reason I wouldn't go back other than nothing much to do outside the hotel locally ( with kids - there's only so many walks you can do ). Yes you can rent a car or take a taxi to other towns along the coast which are certainly more vibrant and upmarket ( Puerta Portal as an example ). I did meet other guests who were there on their 2nd or 3rd visit. Being under one roof so to speak and the convenience of a resort suits them. The Spanish people are very nice and helpful, some can be a bit blunt and others would plainly rather not give another tourist directions. My only serious moan is the group of locals somewhere adjacent to the hotel who stay up all night laughing and shouting and howling. This means you can't sleep with the window open and have to sleep with the AC on...

What a fantastic hotel they are very accommodating to my needs lots to do for children. I am disabled myself and the staff cannot do enough for you all are very friendly all lifeguards we're great especially David I use the hoist due to my disability he was always on hand and helped me back to my sun lounger each time. Food is fantastic something for everyone lots of choice (ignore the negative comments) also lovely desserts, the rooms lovely and clean. Beach is 5 minutes walk away. I feel safe in this hotel that's why I return each year. Excellent

We just spend 7 nights at this hotel, with my parents who haven’t been away for 20 years, a 3 month old and a 3 year old and we had a blast!! I have many good things to say about the hotel and only 1 bad thing. Location is great, it’s about 30/40 mins away from the airport so ideal when you have small children. The beach is about 5/10 minute walk where there is loads of restaurants to pick from. Yes the hotel is very close to the magaluf strip but this was never an issue never ran into issues or loud noise on the night. Food was so much better than I thought it was going to be, every night there was plenty off different food to pick from. I’m a fussy eater and I was happy every night. The breakfast was just your average breakfast not faults really never had lunch because we always filled up on breakfast, the snack bar was the same everyday so that got abit boring after abit. All inclusive drinks where great also good selection off cocktails. The hotel itself was lovely and clean, staff was on top off cleaning the floors inside and out always, cleaning tables as soon as someone left so there was never any mess. The staff work extremely hard. There is only 2 pools one baby one and one deep one, even though there is loads off people constantly around the pool the pool never seemed to be overcrowded which was nice, everyday they always had a pool activity on which was great for big and little kids. The only fault I have for this hotel considering it’s a family hotel the entertainment was very poor, they have an hour of kids entertainment which is awful the entertainers just dance around for the kids to copy but the dances don’t make sense. I was there for 7 nights and they never had a kids disco which is an easy entertainment for kids. They have 2 characters in the hotel where someone dresses up as them but they only ever come out for 5/10 minutes kids get excited then they just go away. The acts that they bring in to perform where two different acts two nights in the row but basically doing the same thing, I think karaoke one night would be good for all families. The entertainment was the only thing I was disappointing in but because there was a big groups of us we just entertained ourselves with card games.

Located in Magalluf - which is mainly a British and youngsters friendly area - and just a few minutes walk from the beach, Sol Katmandú Park & Resort is a Meliá branded property which includes both a hotel and a nice park of attraction for kids. It is surely a great option for families, as guests enjoy free unlimited access to the attractions (except for mini-golf and laser, that require an extra fee). For the record, guests are mostly a mix of Brits, Spanish and Russian. The Family Room is large enough to have a double bed and a sofa that converts itself into another double bed (in order to accommodate 4 persons). On the other hand, there is little furniture and, in the closet, not too much space to put the clothes (better packing light 😉) I found that pillows, towels and toilet paper are of poor quality In the bathroom a rope-line would be greatly useful (since not all rooms have a balcony) Food is neither disgusting nor delicious, as I read in other reviews. It is just on average for hotels of this kind (large and crowded) and offering the All Inclusive formula. I can't deny that - at the buffet - I would have liked to find (sometimes) walnuts/almonds and single sized yogurts but - true to be told - it’s not been a big deal. Hotel times are - let's say - not adjusted to those of my daily routine. 🤭 For example, breakfast is available from 0800h while swimming pools are accessible from 1000h, even if employees tend to be a few minutes late in “setting” them. Katmandú Park also opens at 1000h and closes at 1800h. Kid club (operating 1100h-1300h and 1900h-2015h) is a well appreciated plus. It is organised for groups: Dreamers (8 months - 4 y.o), Explorers (5-8 y.o.), Rangers (9-13 y.o) I also loved that every public bathroom has a mini-toilet for the younger kids. It is one of those details that make the difference. 👏🏻 Beach towels are provided only on request and after leaving a 10,00€ deposit (per each one) The day and night entertainment program is light and not invasive. Appreciated. Designated smoking areas are not strictly respected as there is always somebody who smokes outside of them (unfortunately no hotel staff control is ensured) Meals “management” of the last day is a little bit awkward. Hotel staff consider that on the arrival day your first meal is the dinner - which is absolutely fine - while on the departure day your last meal is the breakfast. That implies that on your last day one loses a free meal. From my point of view, for clients in All Inclusive, every complete day of meals include a dinner, a breakfast and a lunch. A luggage room and a courtesy room are available after checking-out. The “Stay in One, Play in All” concept available in Magalluf is pretty different in reality from what it could sound like. Staff All the persons we came in contact with were pretty professional but some were kinder than others. Special mentions for: Pedro, the Guest Service Manager, who managed well a minor issue Isa, from Kid Club Antonio & Maicol - restaurant waiters Other useful info: -On the 1st floor there is a room with washing and dryer machines (cost respectively 4,00€ and 3,00€ per use). -A supermarket (Aldi) and a convenience store (Tedi) are just 200m from the hotel - the transfer from the airport takes about half an hour and costs 40/50,00€ in taxi
