The Royal Zanzibar Beach Resort is an all-inclusive resort. The programme generally consists of breakfast, lunch and dinner, all buffet style, served in the main restaurant. During meals soft drinks, beer, water and wine are usually offered. Locally produced alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks like water, wine, soft drinks, beer and spirits are usually served throughout the day (except during meal times).

We had a wonderful short stay at the Royal Zanzibar Beach Resort in January and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The resort is absolutely stunning, with beautifully maintained grounds and breathtaking ocean views. The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay, always going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. Our room was spacious, clean, very comfortable and woke up to a beautiful view of the resort and beach, it had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The food was excellent, with a great variety at every meal. Enjoyed the freshly made chapatis on Thursday night and fresh vitumbuas and kachoris for Friday’s breakfast and hot charcoal cooked naans over lunch and dinner. The overall atmosphere of the resort was calm, luxurious, and perfect for unwinding. From the pools to the beach access, every detail felt thoughtfully done. We truly enjoyed our time/stay and would highly recommend Royal Zanzibar Beach Resort to anyone looking for a relaxing/memorable stay in Zanzibar and would love to return in the future! Shout out to Muru, Warda and Edwin for your hospitality and big call out to Grace and Moses at the pool bar for being amazingly awesome and entertaining!

This hotel was extremely disappointing. The check-in process was poorly managed, and overbooking seems to be a regular practice. Guests who do not actively complain or push back appear to be left waiting for hours, sometimes until late at night. That alone says a lot about how this place is run. Customer service felt indifferent and overly focused on payment rather than guest experience. There was little sense of accountability or respect for guests’ time. For the price, there are many better options available. Around $50 can get you accommodations with more reliable internet, better service, and far less stress. This hotel is a clear example that a higher price does not guarantee quality. If you value your time and a smooth, respectful stay, I strongly recommend choosing a different hotel.

Absolutely stunning all-inclusive resort located on what is probably one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. A huge thank you to the incredible hotel team who truly did everything possible to make sure I could enjoy my vacation to the fullest. Outstanding cuisine, very clean rooms, excellent drinks at the bars, and extremely helpful staff in every situation. I would especially like to thank Nitin for the amazing drinks and great atmosphere at the bar. Many thanks as well to the entire reception team, the management team, and especially Mr. Mohamed, as well as the gentlemen responsible for hotel security, who made me feel welcome and safe at all times. We had the most incredible honeymoon experience, and a huge part of that was thanks to the amazing staff who made us feel so special throughout our stay. Alex, who greeted us on arrival, set the tone for the entire trip. He was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely excited for us as honeymooners. He made sure we were given a beautiful room that felt like a true retreat—spacious, spotless, and with a view that made us gasp. His thoughtful touch and warm hospitality made us feel instantly at ease and truly celebrated. Nitin and Michael at the bar were absolute stars. Every evening they greeted us with genuine warmth and remembered our favourite drinks without even asking. Their energy, professionalism, and great sense of humour created such a fun and relaxed atmosphere—we found ourselves looking forward to seeing them each night. They truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and celebrated. Robert in the entertainment room was equally fantastic. His charisma and enthusiasm lit up the room, and he had a real talent for getting everyone involved without ever making it feel forced. Whether it was music, games, or just a great chat, Robert brought the entertainment space to life and made it a highlight of our evenings. We couldn’t have asked for a better team to help make our honeymoon so memorable. Thank you, Alex, Nitin, Michael, and Robert - you made our trip unforgettable!

I’ve just arrived home and dearly miss this place! Me and my husband spent 12 nights here for our honeymoon and it was perfect. The food changing every night is amazing, full of flavours and never got bored! The bedrooms were spotless and the evening mosquito spraying service is so smart too! Furthermore, the beach is absolutely stunning… I have never seen water so clear, so beautiful! We did the romantic beach dinner, which was stunning. The lobster and steak, was 10/10! This topped off our honeymoon nicely. Also, want to give a shout out to Josephine and Grace! They were both so lovely, catering and came with the bubbly happy vibes everyone needs and loves. They made sure I always had a drink and would check in to make sure I am well. Thank you girls!
