Where to begin… the location is perfect, right by the sea, with dining rooms offering breathtaking views. The food changes every day, is fresh, and beautifully prepared. The sea is perfect for relaxing or enjoying a swim. The beach directly in front of the hotel is the only one entirely made of sand. The staff are always kind and smiling, from the reception team to the bar staff. A special mention goes to Theodora, whose smile and kindness truly make you feel at peace. From the very first moment, the hotel gave us a real “wow” effect and exceeded all our expectations! Highly recommended! We will definitely keep it in mind for our future holidays.

I recently stayed at Porto Platanias in Crete and would rate it 3 out of 5 stars overall. The service is definitely a highlight, the staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and professional throughout our stay. The hotel itself is also very beautiful, with multiple pools and a generally nice atmosphere. The private beach is a big plus, and the location is excellent, right in the center of Platanias, with easy access to restaurants, shops, and everything you need. However, the hotel does not fully live up to a 5-star standard. The rooms feel quite average and somewhat outdated. We also experienced a leak from the ceiling in our first room, although to their credit, the staff handled it quickly and moved us to a better room. That said, the air conditioning didn’t work properly, even in the new room. Food was okay but not impressive. Breakfast was decent, but again, not what you would expect from a 5-star hotel. The dinner buffet costs €35 per person if you’re not all-inclusive, which feels overpriced for the quality offered. Another downside is that if you’re not all-inclusive, you’re restricted to using only one of the three bars, which feels unnecessarily limiting. Overall, Porto Platanias has great potential thanks to its location, staff, and facilities, but falls short in room quality and value for money unless you go all-inclusive.

We had a nice stay at Porto Platanias. Its close to the beach, close to Chania by bus and the breakfast is outstanding with something for every taste, both scandinavian, english and greek food. The cleaners are great, really pleasant to talk to and very good at cleaning well. Most noticeable was the great yoga/stretch classes on the grass area in the shadow every morning followed up by aqua gym with catchy music. Marco, the instructor, gives personal feedback so you can improve from day to day and tailors the activity to your personal needs. Really outstanding, and very fun guy to talk to! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

well-structured activity program! There was absolutely no time to get bored.The day started with an amazing stretching session led by Marco. He was incredibly attentive, checking in on everyone’s well-being and carefully tailoring the exercises to accommodate back pain or old injuries.Next was the aqua aerobics—super fun, energetic, and full of great vibes! Marco played modern music that kept the energy high, and the workout was perfectly designed for all ages and fitness levels.Marco is an incredibly positive and charismatic instructor who brings so much joy to everyone. Everything was just perfect! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

Large resort hotel in Platanias village right next to the beach. The hotel is spread over a huge area, with many room types to choose from in several buildings. There are several smaller and larger pools between the buildings, which are not heated. Unfortunately, hotel guests "reserve" the sunbeds in the morning, so it often happened that although there was no one in the pools and around them, we still couldn't find a free sunbed. The sea-view rooms are spacious and have a kitchenette. Their terraces open onto the hotel's beach or a small fishing port. There are also rooms overlooking the pools or the main road or in quieter corners of the hotel. The staff is polite, helpful, and friendly. The service includes breakfast and all-inclusive. We paid for breakfast. The breakfast buffet offers a range of dishes in line with general European trends, supplemented by a few Greek specialties. Hotel guests also have access to a moderately equipped fitness room and a spa area available for a fee. We spent a very pleasant week in the off-season at the hotel. Thank you!
