We had a lovely stay at this hotel and overall really enjoyed our holiday. Our room was excellent, with stunning views of both the sunrise and sunset, which made our stay extra special. The hotel grounds and facilities were well maintained, and the entertainment programme was excellent throughout our stay. A special mention must go to Marco from the activities team. His yoga sessions and water aerobics classes were brilliant – he was energetic, engaging, and created a great atmosphere that guests genuinely enjoyed. The water polo sessions were also fantastic and very well organised. The service from the staff was always friendly and helpful, although it could be quite slow at times. On a few occasions we had to ask more than once for requests to be fulfilled. The all-inclusive drinks package was somewhat disappointing, as the selection and quality of drinks could be improved. Similarly, while there was plenty of food available, we felt the food quality and variety could be better. Despite these areas for improvement, we had a wonderful stay, particularly thanks to the beautiful room, breathtaking views, and excellent entertainment team. We would happily return and hope to see Marco and the team again.

I recently stayed at Porto Platanias in Crete and would rate it 3 out of 5 stars overall. The service is definitely a highlight, the staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and professional throughout our stay. The hotel itself is also very beautiful, with multiple pools and a generally nice atmosphere. The private beach is a big plus, and the location is excellent, right in the center of Platanias, with easy access to restaurants, shops, and everything you need. However, the hotel does not fully live up to a 5-star standard. The rooms feel quite average and somewhat outdated. We also experienced a leak from the ceiling in our first room, although to their credit, the staff handled it quickly and moved us to a better room. That said, the air conditioning didn’t work properly, even in the new room. Food was okay but not impressive. Breakfast was decent, but again, not what you would expect from a 5-star hotel. The dinner buffet costs €35 per person if you’re not all-inclusive, which feels overpriced for the quality offered. Another downside is that if you’re not all-inclusive, you’re restricted to using only one of the three bars, which feels unnecessarily limiting. Overall, Porto Platanias has great potential thanks to its location, staff, and facilities, but falls short in room quality and value for money unless you go all-inclusive.

This is an excellent hotel with clean, comfortable rooms and a very friendly and helpful staff. The resort features four swimming pools with different depths, including children's pools and an adults-only pool, as well as a spa, an à la carte restaurant, and a mini market stocked with everything you might need during your stay. The food is excellent, with a wide variety of options to suit different tastes. Coffee, water, and soft drinks are available in unlimited quantities during meals. The hotel also has its own beach. When booking, it's worth checking whether your reservation includes complimentary beach vouchers or if you'll need to pay for sunbeds. A set of two sunbeds and an umbrella costs €15 per day. There is also a beach bar where you can order drinks and food while enjoying the sea. Hotel is located near the city of Chania, and there is a bus or a taxi that can take you there. The Platanias village have a lot of different restaurants, tavernas and markets.

We have stayed at this hotel twice (for 10- and 7-day all-inclusive vacations) and have invariably been happy with our stays and would like to come back. The hotel is very comfortable and cozy. The buffet is just awesome, with lots of excellent food. The location is perfect, right next to the beach. On our way back, our flight got canceled and the receptionist gave us a voucher to use the all-inclusive and have lunch while waiting for our travel agency to rebook us. That last lunch was wonderful and very much lifted our mood! Thank you very much!

The hotel was okay overall, and the room cleaning service was excellent — the housekeeping staff did a great job every day. However, the rooms had a slightly musty and damp smell, which was quite unpleasant at times. We also had an issue with the bathroom drain: whenever the neighbors took a shower, foam and water would come back up through our drain. The walls are very thin, so you can hear almost everything. People walking by with suitcases, conversations, and even snoring from neighboring rooms were clearly audible. Because of this, I would not say the hotel truly meets a 5-star standard. The all-inclusive food was decent and varied enough, and there was a large selection of cakes and desserts, which was nice. However, with the all-inclusive package, there was only one bar where cocktails were available. In the restaurant, drinks were limited to soft drinks, juice, beer, and wine. The restaurant staff were friendly and polite, but unfortunately the service was often slow. Many times we had to wait a long time for drinks, and sometimes we had already finished eating before the drinks arrived. We did not travel during peak season, so the hotel area was calmer, but people still reserved sunbeds early with towels because there were not enough available. Also, using a sunbed at the beach cost an extra €15, which felt overpriced.
