The view from Katikies is amazing. We stayed in a newly renovated room that was quite nice with a comfortable bed and rainshower. I would have given them 5 stars except our room had no covering on a large window within the door. The shower is immediately beside that door, so when you step out you are in full view. I asked management for a solution and was told they could supply a blanket and we could "figure it out".

The Positives There is no denying that Katikies Gea House offers breathtaking Santorini views. The amenities on-site are excellent, particularly the spa and the heated pool. A highlight of the stay was having access to the facilities at the nearby sister property, Katikies Pelagos House, which added value to our time there. The Negatives Tedious check-In & poor expectation management: Arrival was frustratingly slow. Despite being exhausted from our flight, we were forced into a property tour that should have been made optional for later. Furthermore, because we had been transferred from another property, we were told we would be upgraded to a room with a private tub if available, indeed a "strong note" to that effect was placed against our booking. Despite that "strong note", we had to actively chase for an answer to this at check-in, and were only later told the hotel was fully booked for our entire 3-night stay. Luxury hotels should manage expectations better; management surely knew occupancy levels and shouldn't dangle unrealistic upgrades. Impersonal welcomes: We were left a complimentary bottle of wine in the room. While thoughtful in theory, a true luxury property should check guest preferences beforehand. We don't drink alcohol, so the gesture was completely wasted. Disappointing "Senior Suite": The room types feel incredibly inconsistent. Our "Senior Suite" lacked any separate living space, featuring only a small sofa narrowly wedged between the bed and the wall. The balcony was tiny and lacked loungers, offering only two comfy chairs. To make matters worse, the room had no blackout blinds, making it difficult to sleep in the early morning. Frustrating Breakfast Service: The à la carte breakfast had limited choices. The pacing was completely backward — jams, toast and coffee arrived long before the eggs and savouries — and no small snacks or biscuits were offered. Waiting times were awful, and the staff were highly inattentive; even getting a simple water refill felt like asking for a favour. For the price point this property situates itself, this is completely unacceptable. Verdict While the views and pool are beautiful, the clunky service, rigid and limited breakfast, and underwhelming room layouts mean Katikies Gea House currently misses the mark for a high-end luxury boutique experience.

Great view! Room is nice! BUT not very comfortable for the people with knee issues! Too many stairs to climb. No handrails for support.

The view from this hotel is unreal, with the most iconic backdrop: Oia, Santorini. Across the property, you get stunning views of Oia, the caldera, and the ocean. What I enjoyed most was that it’s off the main tourist path. The hotel sits on the cliff but not in the crowded center, so you still have privacy and peace. Mornings are calm and quiet on the private verandas. The staff was helpful and attentive throughout our stay. Theresia Restaurant was easily one of the best dinners of the trip. Absolutely worth it. One thing to note, and this applies to most cliffside hotels, is that the stairs are steep and there’s a lot of walking up and down. If you have any mobility issues, it can be challenging. The hotel offers direct access to the main walkway from the suites, which is very convenient. Another thing worth mentioning is that the electricity flickers on and off at times. It’s not specific to the hotel, but rather an island-wide issue caused by the grid being overloaded during peak season. But it didn’t really affected our stay.

Away from the noisy main shopping area but a quick stroll there. Lovely rooms with incredible views! Loved every minute.
