Iberostar Waves Club Cala Barca

We had a really lovely five night stay at Iberostar Waves Cala Barca. We are a family of four with two kids, boy and girl, aged five and seven. We spent all day everyday at the pool, the kids loved the bouncy dome pool in particular as the are really high energy kids thay love water. We as parents were able to relax and get to actually read our books while the kids had so much fun right in front of us. The food in the hotel is great, always lots of variety and lovely fresh salads, seafood, grilled meats etc. We really enjoyed the Mexican on a few occasions, lovely food and much calmer vibe than the main buffet. We got really lucky with our room on the 3rd floor looking out at the sea, sunsets from our balcony were fab. The beds were really comfortable, even my kids remarked on them. Our room was cleaned everyday, so nice to return to in the evening. The beach was a short stroll from our room and I took an evening dip every day, really peaceful and clear water there, albeit a bit rocky as you enter the water. We actually didn't leave the hotel during our stay as we really didn't want to, which normally never happens. We always rent a car for day trips, but this time we were enjoying relaxing too much to leave! Special mention to Panne (sorry if spelt incorrectly), the manager who really went out of his way to look after my daughter with lots of special deserts and icepops as she is dairy intolerant, made her feel really special! We can't wait to return in the future and highly recommend for families!

We recently visited this resort as a last minute family holiday. We can’t recommend the hotel enough! The hotel itself is amazing and the facilities are great particularly if you have younger children. Ours are 3 and 4 and have had so much fun. The staff have been absolutely amazing too with Pani(y) helping us organise our trip to Palma and giving our girls some colouring books for the journey. He has been brilliant during our stay! I would also give a mention to Juan at the restaurant who has given us great service! Thanks again all. We’ll be coming back and recommending to everyone we can l!

We recently stayed for a week at this hotel. A family of 4 (2 adults, 7 year old and 2 year old). We booked a Family Room through easyjet holidays. We were located in the middle section of complex across the road from the main part of the hotel and this was perfect for us. Our room had a lovely view of the two pools in our area and a snack and drinks hut which was ideal. The room had a huge bedroom and a cot that I had requested. Also a sofa made up as a bed too. The room was perfect for what we needed. A short 3-5mins walk (with a toddler) and we were at the main part of the hotel. The restaurants were fantastic, my partners favourite was the Mexican. The beach restaurant opened the weekend we were leaving so didn't get to enjoy that. My children enjoyed the football pitch, parks, and the pools. The team were so friendly and accommodating. The shop on site was very useful. We enjoyed the entertainment in the evenings especially the quiz. The beach was also lovely. Would definitely recommend and will be returning in the future.

EDIT: The hotel's proposed solutions, an upgrade to a family room with a garden view or a 50% discount on a day pass, do not appear to fully address the significant inconvenience we experienced. It seems the hotel manager may not have entirely grasped the extent of the stress caused by the condition of our accommodations. ------ We stayed at Iberostar Waves Club Cala Barca from June 13 to June 23 and were generally satisfied with many aspects of the hotel. Unfortunately, our holiday was overshadowed by a serious incident. During our stay, a significant water leak occurred in our room. At the time it happened, nobody was using the shower. My wife was asleep in the room with our baby, while I was out with our two other children. Suddenly, water started coming out from the bathroom area and spread throughout the room, flooding the bathroom, hallway and living area. What made the situation particularly upsetting was that, despite the room being cleaned afterwards, there was a strong sewage-like smell throughout the entire night. Travelling with three young children, including a baby, made this experience especially stressful and unpleasant. Although we were offered a room change, this was not a realistic option for us at that moment. Moving all our belongings, baby equipment and luggage with three children would have caused significant additional stress during our holiday. In addition, two of our children's suitcases were damaged by the incident. Despite being thoroughly cleaned afterwards, both suitcases still have a strong sewage smell and are no longer usable. I would like to emphasize that the hotel staff, reception team and guest relations staff were friendly and aware of the situation. Several employees even advised us to contact Iberostar directly after returning home to request compensation for the inconvenience and damage caused. We have photographs documenting the incident and there were multiple witnesses. We are currently waiting for Iberostar's response and hope the company will provide a fair and customer-focused resolution. Until then, unfortunately, this incident prevents us from giving an otherwise positive stay the rating it might have deserved.

We had a lovely stay at Iberostar Cala Barca. I think it’s an excellent choice for families with children aged between 5 and 10. The resort is large enough to offer plenty of activities, but still feels easy to get around and very family-friendly. Without a doubt, the swimming pools were the highlight for our children. They really enjoyed the kids’ club too. One of my favourite aspects of the hotel was the beautifully maintained grounds, with pine trees and vibrant bougainvillea creating a wonderful Mediterranean setting. There are several restaurants to choose from, and our favourite was the beach restaurant. Gustavo, who welcomed guests there, was extremely helpful with our reservation and attentive throughout our meal. His excellent service made the experience even more enjoyable. Thank you to the whole team for such a lovely stay. We would be very happy to return.
