I am currently staying at this hotel and feel compelled to share what happened today. I left my wife by the pool while I went back to our room for a short time. When I returned, I found her extremely distressed, visibly shaken, and on the verge of tears. My wife suffers from anxiety, and the way she was treated by a member of staff had clearly had a significant impact on her. While sitting quietly by the pool, she was approached by the lifeguard and questioned about why she didn’t have a towel. Caught off guard, she became flustered and struggled to answer. He then demanded her room number. In her panic, she accidentally gave the wrong number. As I had taken the room key with me, she had no way of immediately proving she was a guest. Rather than handling the situation with any understanding or discretion, she was told she needed to leave the pool area and was further challenged to provide proof of her reservation on her phone—something she couldn’t do because I made the booking. By the time I returned, she was an anxious mess. What should have been a relaxing holiday experience became a humiliating ordeal. Instead of feeling like a valued guest, she was made to feel as though she had done something wrong simply for sitting by the pool. I fully understand that staff may need to verify that people using the facilities are hotel guests. However, there is a huge difference between carrying out a routine check and treating someone in a way that leaves them feeling intimidated, embarrassed, and afraid to return. As a result, my wife no longer feels comfortable using the pool or any of the hotel’s leisure facilities for the remainder of our stay. That is incredibly disappointing given that relaxation was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. To make matters worse, there are groups of children regularly shouting and screaming around the pool area without intervention, yet a quiet guest sitting alone was singled out and made to feel unwelcome. This experience has completely overshadowed our stay. If you’re looking for a hotel where you can relax and feel comfortable, I would suggest considering other options.

Review: We stayed at the hotel for 7 nights with my husband and our 1-year-old daughter. Overall, we had a nice time, but I personally would not choose to stay here again. The main issues for us were related to convenience for families with young children. The elevators were very slow, and the main ones were quite narrow, which made it difficult to move around with a stroller. We also paid extra for a sea-view room, but the view was quite limited, with a road in front and only a small glimpse of the sea, which was disappointing. The room itself did not have a bathtub, only a shower, which made it inconvenient for bathing our baby. Housekeeping was generally done daily, however, we had an unpleasant experience where a pair of shoes went missing. Although we did not report it at the time, it affected our trust and comfort with room cleaning services. On a positive note, the staff were mostly polite and tried their best to help. The location is good, as the city is nearby and easy to access. However, overall, we felt the prices were quite high for what was offered. Breakfast had limited variety, especially for those who do not eat pork. Dining out was also expensive—for example, a very simple dinner for two with drinks cost around 80 euros, even in the low season (19–26 April). In conclusion, while we had some good moments, the value for money and certain aspects of comfort did not meet our expectations.

Our stay at Hotel Son Caliu Spa Oasis was simply outstanding — a true 10/10 experience. The hotel itself offers a perfect balance of comfort, elegance, and a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere. Everything feels thoughtfully designed to create a seamless guest experience. What truly made the difference, however, was the people. A special thank you to Juan Martín and Carmen from the restaurant — their full passion, genuine care, and incredible attention to detail elevated every single meal into a memorable experience. This is hospitality done right. And then there is Melanie at the reception — absolutely exceptional. Her natural interest in guests, proactive mindset, and ability to anticipate needs set a completely different standard. She would be a perfect fit for a Head of Guest Relations role — truly impressive. While most of the team delivered a great experience, there is still some room for improvement in consistency across all staff members. Overall, this is a place we would gladly return to. If you’re looking for a hotel where people genuinely care about your experience, this is it.

The hotel is very clean and well maintained, with a pleasant environment and tasteful decoration. The front desk staff and service team were consistently warm, welcoming, and professional. The restaurant staff were also friendly, which made the overall stay potentially very enjoyable. However, I am leaving a lower rating due to the experience with one of the restaurant managers (a man in a suit). During my stay, both in the mornings and evenings, his attitude came across as noticeably cold and unwelcoming, which negatively affected the dining experience and, in turn, the overall impression of the hotel. If the hotel chooses to operate a restaurant, it would be important to ensure that management staff demonstrate a basic level of professionalism and hospitality, consistent with the otherwise high standards of the hotel.

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. Suitable for couples, families and friends. Great food options - limited for vegans but there are options. A shame the dinner buffet is no more. Cava at breakfast is the winning touch for me! Family time in the pool is restricted to two two hour sessions a day but should be exclusively for families as too many grown men sitting at the side or in the pool without kids made us uncomfortable. Really super lovely staff.
