Mixed Experience – Room & Environment Good, Dining Needs Improvement We had a mixed experience during our stay at Heritance Aarah. While the resort environment and rooms are well maintained and housekeeping did a good job, several aspects did not meet our expectations for a 5-star resort. We experienced some concerning dining issues during our stay. In Villa 110, we found a bottle of red wine that appeared to have already been opened in the refrigerator. Additionally, on 16 Dec 2025, during in-villa breakfast in Villa 721, a bread spread that had already been opened was served to us. While these may have been mistakes, they raised concerns about attention to detail and hygiene standards. Food quality was inconsistent. A seafood pizza at the poolside restaurant had a strong fishy smell and was not enjoyable, so we did not proceed with the dish. In general, restaurant menus across the resort felt repetitive, the food was average, and pricing did not always reflect the quality. It would be nice to see more variety, especially Asian cuisine options. The highlight of our stay was Ambula Restaurant, where the food was creative and the service team stood out positively. Service levels across the resort were mixed, with some staff being less proactive than expected for a luxury property. Interestingly, we experienced warmer and more attentive service at a small hotel in Malé (Samann Grand) after our stay. Overall, the resort setting and rooms are pleasant, but improvements in food quality, menu variety, and service consistency would greatly enhance the guest experience and help the resort better reflect its 5-star positioning.

Heritance Aarah was such a beautiful experience. We stayed in an overwater villa, which was absolutely stunning and the lagoon is so turquoise, it’s honestly addictive to look at. Our butler made the stay even more special. He was attentive, warm, and brought so much personality to everything he did. All the restaurants were amazing, but Ambula, the Sri Lankan, Maldivian fine dining restaurant, was my personal highlight. The food was outstanding, I could go back for it alone. Don’t miss the frozen passion fruit daiquiri… it became my go-to cocktail every day.

The Heritance Aarah resort is beautiful & the level of accommodation & service are both excellent! The butler service in particular was fabulous & faultless. Of the 7 available restaurants for us the stand outs were Ambulal & Ginifathi The house reef is not as extensive as some other resorts, however we were able to see turtles & rays from the water villa! Trips were well done and very interesting. We would highly recommend this resort & the Heritance group.

The resort is beautiful and the staff were always happy to help and were very friendly. My butler Satyam helped with arrangements and really helped to make our stay memorable. From snorkeling the reef outside our beach villa to a dolphin cruise, there is plenty to do…or simply relax by their lovely pool. We had a wonderful time and recommend this resort for discerning travelers looking to go to the Maldives!

When our villa host showed us to our room, I cried. Actual tears. I had never seen anything so exquisite in my life. “Maruhabaa,” the Maldivian greeting, became a favorite word of mine. When spoken, you place your hand on your heart—and that physical connection to the moment makes it feel so meaningful. The staff openly shared stories about their lives, their prayer routines, and their love for their islands. It was refreshing and deeply grounding. The food? Phenomenal. The glittery pool? Magical. And as an alcohol-free traveler, I lived for their KULHI—mint, mango, green chili, and ginger. Heaven in a glass. And .... I happen to know they’re working on an even bigger alcohol-free menu, which I cannot wait for. Oh—and THE SPA. Upon arrival, you get a complimentary face scan. Mine said I looked younger than I am (bless them) and gave me tips to improve. I’ve been trying. Obviously, I need to go back to Heritance soon to check my progress. There are a lot of beautiful places in the world... I travel a lot and have seen some miraculous places but Heritance Aarah took my breath away... the beauty of the destination combined with the authentic, caring and always smiling staff will have me recommending everyone I know to go!!!
