Our family had an unforgettable stay at Emerald Faarufushi. From the moment we arrived, the entire team welcomed us with genuine smiles and touching hospitality that we will always remember. A very special thank you goes to our villa host, Elite, whose exceptional service and heartfelt care made us feel completely at home. He truly elevated our trip and left us deeply touched. We also want to recognize Bey from the Front Office, who showed great kindness and attentiveness throughout our stay. Along with the rest of the staff, everyone was consistently friendly, respectful, and dedicated to making our experience remarkable. Finally, we would like to thank General Manager Patrick for leading such an outstanding team and ensuring every detail of our stay was perfect. Emerald Faarufushi gave us memories we will cherish forever, and we look forward to returning to this paradise again.

Horrible treatment during checkout. This is a nice resort, but the treatment during the checkout was horrible. You are being treated as garbage once you checkout and they make you feel that you are unwanted while you wait for your seaplane. I was traveling with 3 kids and we asked for a late checkout and were not given our room. Although we checked in on 16:00 on the first day, the day before departure we were informed that we need to checkout at 12:00 hrs. There are several issues here: 1- We were only informed the day before about the checkout time and that late checkout was not available. I had a massage appointment at 11:00 on the day of the checkout which was arranged two days prior arranged buy the villa butler. When I got out of the massage, I was told that I must immediately go and pay for extras so I was forced into a rush right after my massage treatment and the whole affect of was gone. 2- Even the villa bike (they have several) was taken away from me as "it is required for the new guests". Those new guests who are given priority will be treated the same way when they are checking out. 3- Personnel from the hotel was waiting in front of the door at 12:01 pressing out to move (we were ready and trying to do a final check of the room). I am not sure if this a single incident but looking at the experience of other members of our travel group, it seems to be an organized treatment towards guests that are checking out. Having travelled around the world and having stayed in so many hotels, this is the first time l have experienced this type of treatment.

This was my 5th stay in the Maldives, 2nd time at this resort and it was even better than the first time. I will try to give an honest review, also comparing to other resorts I have been to (all in the same category). Food here is very good, in all restaurants. Not a single dish I tried was anything but great, some even exceptional (for example the bolognese). Also great compared to other resorts is that there are no limits on dishes, meaning not the typical „1 starter, 1 main, 1 desert“ other places include in the AI plan. That is great in the Asian style restaurant, where the starters/appetizers are very good and I prefered to have more of them rather than the main course category. The only thing lacking is maybe a lack of choice on the menues, especially deserts, when staying longer - quality is much more important though and it is ok to eat a good dish twice during a stay. Another thing that separates this resort is that in the evening there is always live music or karaoke. Now don’t get me wrong, I also come here to relax and enjoy the quiet, but I was at resorts where there was literally nothing going on in the evening. Its just the perfect combination here! A big plus is that they offer some premium spirits as part of the AI plan, f.e laphroaig whisky, which I have not encountered anywhere else. The spa area is nice and quiet, the massage was great€ A pleaseant surprise was that as a returning guest you get a special dinner and some spa credit as benefit. Had I known that there are benefits for returning guest, I probably would have returned sooner. Combining this with the free villa upgrade i received (beach to beach with pool) is a big incentive to visit again, maybe even bringing more people along. So if there are special benefits for coming back with more people, tell me ;) The only downside here - which happened at ALL ressorts I have been to - is when cashing out, they have…a special way to calculate the final price you are paying for a service, f.e. a spa treatment. It is just not transparent when there are different fees, you have a discount or credit (does it include the fee?taxes?). This kind of manner on the maldives spoils the experience to some extent, as you just feel getting ripped off when costs are displayed lower on adverts than they finally are. I don’t care about your taxes and fees, just the sum at the end is relevant! But hey, maybe that is a cultural thing. Where I come from I am used to having full transparency without much calculation and knowing of fees/deductions that change the outcome. At the last and most important: the staff. Those are the people that make a holiday either great or bad. Here they were all great, but some stood out. I also want to point out that the people say and it also feels like the employer is treating them well. Priyanka - i remembered her from my last visit 3 years ago as one of the friendliest and most competent people in the service and she still is. It is just a great feeling talking to her, I hope she will be here next time. Igga - our villa host, handled everything fast (booking, changes). Just perfect service. Nish - very nice guy at the bar, always fun having him around. Ezhan - A very likable guy in the Restaurants, who did a great job whenever I met him Kettut - our villa attendant. And to say, the best I ever had. On his day off, while still everything was fine with room cleaning etc., there was still a noticeable difference to when he was there. It is all the small things he just took care off that you never think about (getting you more of the stuff in the minibar that he noticed you liked most, filling water into the coffee machine, making everything look cleaner,…). He went beyond the expected duty of a roomboy. Thank you! Akash - he made me a special indian tea, a bit like chai latte, from his own stuff as it is not on the menu. Not once, bit three times. He could have just said it is not available, but he didnt. Great guy.

What a fabulous resort. We have been to the Maldives twice before and this resort is our favourite. A lovely intimate feel to it and great food and drink but it was the staff that really set it apart. They couldn’t do more for you and had a genuine passion and interest in our needs as a family. I cannot recommend highly enough.
