What a fabulous resort. We have been to the Maldives twice before and this resort is our favourite. A lovely intimate feel to it and great food and drink but it was the staff that really set it apart. They couldn’t do more for you and had a genuine passion and interest in our needs as a family. I cannot recommend highly enough.

Horrible treatment during checkout. This is a nice resort, but the treatment during the checkout was horrible. You are being treated as garbage once you checkout and they make you feel that you are unwanted while you wait for your seaplane. I was traveling with 3 kids and we asked for a late checkout and were not given our room. Although we checked in on 16:00 on the first day, the day before departure we were informed that we need to checkout at 12:00 hrs. There are several issues here: 1- We were only informed the day before about the checkout time and that late checkout was not available. I had a massage appointment at 11:00 on the day of the checkout which was arranged two days prior arranged buy the villa butler. When I got out of the massage, I was told that I must immediately go and pay for extras so I was forced into a rush right after my massage treatment and the whole affect of was gone. 2- Even the villa bike (they have several) was taken away from me as "it is required for the new guests". Those new guests who are given priority will be treated the same way when they are checking out. 3- Personnel from the hotel was waiting in front of the door at 12:01 pressing out to move (we were ready and trying to do a final check of the room). I am not sure if this a single incident but looking at the experience of other members of our travel group, it seems to be an organized treatment towards guests that are checking out. Having travelled around the world and having stayed in so many hotels, this is the first time l have experienced this type of treatment.

Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa is, without hesitation, among the finest resorts we have ever experienced. Having previously stayed at exceptional properties such as Four Seasons Kuda Huraa and Soneva Jani, we arrive with very high standards — and Emerald Faarufushi not only met them, but surpassed them. From the very first moment at check-in, everything was impeccable. The villas were allocated immediately, seamlessly and with genuine warmth. Even more impressive was the organization of an extraordinary late check-out — offered naturally, without additional charges, and without the usual hesitation of “we’re not sure if it’s possible.” It was simply handled, graciously and effortlessly. The staff is truly exceptional: extremely well trained, attentive to every detail, yet never intrusive. Their presence feels natural and sincere, not scripted. Cleanliness throughout the resort is outstanding — from the villas to the pools and restaurants — everything is immaculate and beautifully maintained. Any request or question was met instantly, always with a smile and a genuine willingness to help, without ever giving the impression that assistance was forced or artificial. The all-inclusive concept here is taken to an exceptional level. The food is delicious, refined, and impeccably prepared. The possibility to dine across multiple restaurants truly enhances the experience and keeps every meal exciting. A special mention goes to the Italian executive chef — and to what was, quite simply, the best lobster risotto we have ever had. One of the highlights of our stay was the fishing experience. Catching our own fish and then having it beautifully prepared by the resort’s chefs was an unforgettable moment — a perfect blend of authenticity and refined hospitality. Snorkeling deserves special praise. While the boat excursions were wonderful, the most breathtaking snorkeling experience was right in the lagoon surrounding the resort itself. The marine life, clarity of the water, and overall richness of the reef are truly exceptional — among the best we have seen in the Maldives. Emerald Faarufushi genuinely deserves to be ranked among the very top resorts in the Maldives. We sincerely hope this review contributes to elevating its already outstanding rating from 9.9 to a well-deserved 10. For the first time, we leave a resort already knowing we want to return.
