We had a great time at Angaga Resort. Starting with a (premium water) bungalow, to the really delicious and various and never boring food during breakfast and dinner, to the cleanliness in the resort, to the always very nice and friendly staff - there wasn't absolutely anything that didn't contribute to a wonderful holiday. However, we have some concerns reg. 2 aspects: In our opinion, disposable plastic bottles for drinking water are no longer acceptable – there are better and more resource-saving options i.e. in the form of refillable bottles (yes, also as plastic – if anyone is afraid of broken glass). Yes, it's not that convenient and easy going but if you reflect about the quantity of plastic waste that is accumulating just on Angaga per day and which has to be expensively disposed in one way or another - scary... Another point are the offered fishing tours on the bulletin board at reception. While diving and snorkeling during our stay, we saw sharks on 3 occasions that had a fishing hook in their mouth, dragging the torn off remains of some meters of fishing lines behind. Anyone signing in for these kind of holiday activities should be aware of the often fatal consequences for the (luckily?) escaped victims of these kind of „adventures“. However, more important than the demand of bored tourists seeking the thrill in torturing creatures should be the offer itself. Having the Maldives in mind by making a point in the maritime & environmetal protection in the past - these kind of „adventures“ do not make sense at all from our personal perspective. That’s just sad and a no-go for us while sharks are threatened with extinction in so many maritim areas. Why not taking off that offer from the bulletin board?

Beautiful!😍 Food: We had half board, and the food was delicious and fresh. I followed the rule of eating only cooked or packaged food, avoiding open, pre-cut fruits, and my stomach felt great the entire time. It would be nice if the main bar offered a more varied menu with more healthy snacks. At breakfast and dinner, I’m not a fan of jams, spreads, or sauces sitting in large open bowls. I’d prefer smaller portions that run out and get replaced, ensuring freshness. The servers were all very kind and attentive. For breakfast, I would love to see options like oatmeal and nuts added. Overall, everything was very tasty!

I should start well let's say, and the island is very beautiful, beautiful beaches and reef nearby, this is our third trip and we had never had such a disappointing experience as ANGAGA, the restaurant literally sucks, in the sense that they provide 3 or at most 4 types of fruit that you have for 3 days and on the fourth day it becomes fruit salad, appetizers 4 little things thrown there and then remade them the next day, the salads were fresh, fish????? Only one type of fish and prepared differently, baked today, then the leftovers fried with olives, the next day made with lemon and in the evening again with a sauce..... Too bad it was the leftovers of leftovers, this at noon and in the evening, they served us tuna and told us it was fresh... yes defrosted but still frozen, I don't know if I make myself clear, then breakfast was another rubbish, 2 types of brioche and obviously overheated, you can taste it stale, bread, butter and the other usual things, even the fruit, cut with the dried patina from the next day, American coffee, espresso 4 dollars and a waiter earns 300 paltry dollars for slavery, speaking of waiters..... 2 good, the rest arrogant, rude, sad and with faces that could be put in a museum, there was one who didn't want to be in that place name. ( ) If I had been the boss I would have put him at the entrance in a glass case to admire a Maldivian mummy, if you don't like doing this job stay at home or go fishing, because people pay handsomely and want to be served as everywhere, mattress from the 80s and it was impossible to sleep, excruciating back pain, whale shark excursion..... Nothingeeee, rough sea and impossible to travel, in short you who are locals check the sea weather, they told us 20 minutes by boat and instead it was 2.12 minutes, hungry and they gave us a half-liter bottle of water that then became boiling tea, engine at full throttle and diesel smoke everywhere, unbreathable, truly disgusting the catering, the staff, except 4 or 5 nice and kind, the nice bar is the one where there are the water bungalows where there is a waiter, actually 2 who are super nice, instead the other one on the beach is a disaster, it seems like you have to apologize every time you ask for a drink, arrogant waiter and unpleasant with everyone, rude and obviously sad, except for those 4/5 people of the staff, the rest seem to have it with life and with the world, and they should understand that if we tourists don't come, these people will have to live off Anchovies.... Well, I hate to write these things, but unfortunately, they happened, and I'm very sorry. I recommend you avoid this island, even though I must say that the island itself is beautiful, and it's a shame to have had such an experience... Next time, we'll choose more carefully, but obviously, long live Sardinia, Calabria, Sicily, and all of Italy! Let's not complain about our country because there are worse things abroad, much, much worse. The room was more or less clean, made of bamboo but all broken, meaning broken and neglected furniture. We saw a jungle under the bed, because obviously they don't clean under the bed. Broken furniture, a clogged sink, and the refrigerator didn't close properly, ants inside. I have to say, it's not a 4-star resort; for the island, it's a 5-star, as I said, but otherwise, it's a 2-3 star. A night and a day is fine, but after that, it's not worth it; there are other, much nicer resorts. Another thing is that the internet doesn't work anywhere, they don't give you soap, they don't change the sheets - a total disaster

Our stay at Angaga exceeded expectations.  We absolutely loved it here, and are so glad we went with staying at Angaga.  The house reef is out of this world.  I could not believe how amazing the snorkeling was.  There were black and white tipped sharks, sting rays, eagle rays, turtles, more fish than I could count, and an octopus.  We would go snorkeling multiple times per day.Our room was on the sunset side, and the sunsets were fantastic.  The room was cleaned twice per day, and the service in the restaurant was amazing (we had Firat - he was wonderful).  We were in the "older" overwater bungalows, but I thought it was great.  I think the newer ones are further away from the restaurants (but they do have a sunset bar). The food was good - there were lots of options (it's buffet style).  Also, although the resort had a high occupancy while we were there, the only time we realized it was at dinner (there were always plenty of tables available when we went to eat - it was great how you barely notice all of the other people also staying at the resort). We did 2 snorkeling excursions, 1 manta ray excursion, and a visit to the spa.  I highly recommend all of these.  In making the reservations, the team who answered all of my questions were always responsive and helpful.  Our only complaint - the seaplane going back to Male was over an hour late, which made our trip home a little stressful.  Luckily, the resort made special accommodations to expedite our travel once we arrived in Male so we could make our flight home.  The team who works for the seaplane did a great job of meeting us when we landed, and shuttling us immediately over to the airport.  We are so glad we selected Angaga!

The island is very small with a beautiful reef and fish. The villas are a bit old and need renovation, as is the beach. There was no beach in front of my villa, it was just a cliff, but it looks like they are trying and renovating. The staff is very friendly. I will probably come back in two years if they renovate the villas and the beach a bit.
