My stay at The Verandah Resort in Antigua was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The beautiful beaches, relaxing atmosphere, and great amenities made for an unforgettable vacation. However, what truly made this trip so special was the outstanding service we received from Andre, Leon, and Dequane. These three employees went above and beyond every single day to make sure we had the best possible experience. They were always welcoming, friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about making our vacation memorable. Their positive attitudes, attention to detail, and willingness to help with anything we needed did not go unnoticed. Andre, Leon, and Dequane are a huge asset to The Verandah Resort. They turned a great vacation into an exceptional one, and they are the reason we’ll be recommending this resort to our family and friends. We can’t thank them enough for their hospitality and for making us feel so welcome. If you’re considering staying at The Verandah, know that you’re in great hands—especially if you have the pleasure of meeting Andre, Leon, and Dequane. They truly made our vacation unforgettable. My husband and I chose to celebrate our anniversary at Verandah Resort, and while there, there were several memorable moments, however, our overall experience did not meet our expectations. One of the highlights of our trip was spending time at Lovers Beach. It was peaceful, relaxing, and exactly what we hoped for during our anniversary getaway. Our private couples' dinner under the beachfront gazebo was another unforgettable experience. The setting was beautiful, the food was delicious, and our server provided the best service we received throughout our stay. Their kindness, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality made the evening truly special. Our room was comfortable, but there were several issues that affected our stay. The bed linens were extremely thin, and there were no blankets provided. The bathroom lacked ventilation, making it consistently hot and uncomfortable. In addition, the television speakers produced poor sound quality, which made watching TV unpleasant. Unfortunately, room service was disappointing. On more than one occasion, we had to call the front desk multiple times to have our needs met. We have experienced much better room service at other resorts. The entertainment was enjoyable, and we appreciated the effort the entertainment team put into keeping guests engaged. One of the best parts of our vacation was the opportunity to meet and build friendships with other guests. Our experience with the resort staff was mixed. The male staff members were warm, welcoming, helpful, and actively engaged with guests. However, approximately 80% of the female staff members we encountered appeared unfriendly and unapproachable. Their demeanor often gave the impression that they were unhappy in their jobs. In particular, Gem, who handled tour bookings, seemed impatient when answering questions and assisting with reservations, which made the experience less pleasant than expected. While Antigua is a beautiful destination that we would gladly visit again, Verandah Resort is not a property we would choose for a future stay. Based on our overall experience, we would not recommend this resort to our family and friends. Although there were several bright spots that made our anniversary memorable, the service inconsistencies and accommodations did not provide the level of hospitality we expected from a resort of this caliber.

We had a great experience and would enjoy coming back. Beautiful location, wonderful place to relax. Cons: Not real drink service, surprised no one comes to take drinks anywhere. Food: Decent, but limited while we were there. Also the upgraded meal was not worth the extra unfortunately. Rooms: They were fine, but can hear the people beside you really easy and/or their TV All and all a good time. Wish there was more drink service, more food options at night. Most staff were nice, but very long for cart rides, and mostly just walked besides waiting.

So the air conditioners in the room couldnt get the temperature below 74F for the entire week... we prefer to sleep around 65F so it was difficult. The mattresses had no pillowtopper or memory foam, just a mattress and a sheet. the bathrooms had no ventilation fans so all that wafted into the bedroom. The toilet and shower water smelled of sewer gas, while the sink water was odor free. The food was better than I would expect for an all inclusive at every single restuarant except for the Rasta beach grill, it was mediocre there. Service was a little slow all around but I think thats a cultural thing that I'm just not used to (I live in the north eastern USA). I would say 75% of the staff were nice and friendly while the remainder clearly didnt want to be there and it showed. I enjoyed the nightly activities centered around the pool bar, the water sports were also alotta fun with quality equipment for kayaking, paddleboarding, and sailing. The alcohol and drink quality was quite good, when they had the good stuff in stock. About 1/3rd of the time they had "run out" of the English Harbor rum. A group of 4 of us won an "all expense paid trip to the verandah" but after all the fees it ended up costing us 6.8k in the end... I wouldnt come back here, not for the price which I dont think lines up with the quality and service of this place.

Food was great..food quality is much better than other resorts in the Caribbean. For pickleball lovers, a great place to drill and relax. There are four courts and they are new and fully equipped. Servicewise speaking, the shuttle carts' drivers are mostly fantastic, especially Sharma. He loves his job and always goes that extra mile to help guests. Special mention goes to the Manager, Theron. He responded any customer services speedily and very polite. He is a top tier Manager. However, the staff in front desk was a different story. They did not show care and respond customer questions with sincerity. Such attitude was no good especially in hospitality industry. In terms of night life, not much to talk about as there was virtually nothing. The resort should have promoted more in this area. The beaches and the swimming pools are good.
