My mom and I recently travelled to St James Club in Antigua and we had an absolutely incredible stay. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. Every team member we encountered was exceptional—thoughtful, kind, attentive, and always going above and beyond to make our experience special. The food was truly outstanding. Having stayed at several all-inclusive resorts, I can honestly say this was the best food I have ever had at an all-inclusive. Every meal was fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. The variety and quality exceeded all expectations. The combination of exceptional service, amazing cuisine, and the beauty of Antigua made this a vacation we will never forget. We left feeling relaxed, appreciated, and already looking forward to returning. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a first-class all-inclusive experience.

We recently stayed at St. James’s Club Antigua and had a mixed experience. The biggest positive was our beachfront room. It was very spacious, had a big bathroom with double sinks, and the second-floor rooms have tall vaulted ceilings that make the space feel even larger. Unfortunately, the beachfront itself was a major disappointment. The amount of sargassum seaweed was overwhelming. The water wasn’t inviting, and the smell from the seaweed was pretty brutal throughout much of our stay. We specifically booked a beachfront room expecting to enjoy the ocean views, but instead spent most of our time looking at piles of seaweed on a beach that you couldn’t enjoy. We also found the customer service lacking. While there were a few exceptions, many of the staff members were not particularly friendly or welcoming throughout the week. For an all-inclusive Caribbean resort, we expected a warmer and more attentive atmosphere. As someone who has to eat gluten-free, dining was frustrating. We received different answers depending on who we asked. One restaurant told us gluten-free bread or buns had to be requested in advance, while the front desk said that wasn’t necessary. Even when requested, they often ran out of gluten-free items. The buffet had very limited gluten-free options, and there wasn’t much variety, making meals repetitive. Menus also never changed. We stayed at Cocos bay in Antigua last year and I had the best gluten free pasta and bread at that resort. Overall, the rooms themselves were excellent, but between the severe sargassum, inconsistent service, and poor accommodation for gluten-free guests, the resort didn’t live up to our expectations.

Destination Wedding Disappointment – St. James Club & Villas, Antigua We recently had our wedding at this resort with 20 guests. Sharing our experience to help others planning to visit this resort. • Key wedding details were not honoured (confirmed menu, flowers, legal arrangements, photo booth). • Poor coordination—unorganized, unresponsive wedding coordinator led to day-of issues and shortcomings • Guest accommodations mishandled, especially for seniors with mobility needs. • Rooms outdated unless upgraded; multiple maintenance issues (e.g., broken A/C, safes). • Royal Suites experience didn’t meet expectations—concierge service lacking basic amenities unavailable e.g., no clean towels for 3 days. • Other amenities unavailable (e.g., lengthy facilities closures). • Cleanliness and security concerns reported (cockroaches, multiple reports of missing cash and items). • Management response was limited and insufficient. • There are some excellent people working at the resort this was not enough to make up for the experience Overall: Disappointing experience with serious issues in service, organization, accommodations, and trust. Not recommended for weddings or vacations. Star rated should be reassessed.

Nice hotel, friendly staff and good food! Please, be careful if you choose this hotel, if you travel to Antigua for nice and clear water, there won't be any in this resort. It will be nice if the hotel offers a shuttle to nearby pigeon point beach for a change. If you travel from Europe /12 hour flight/ you definitely would not like to see this. VERY disappointing. Too far from the airport. Property too large with many steep hills and uneven walkways. Except for one restaurant, on the property, the Piccalo, which you had to pay $100 each extra, the other restaurants were not very good. Pretty low quality food. Piccolo restaurant was exceptional. Service was exceptional at the Piccolo. The other restaurants? Pretty medoka. Property grounds and rooms? In disrepair. Poor TV channel choices. A/C units struggle in hot humid weather. A/C Remote control broken. No small appetizers at the pools. Cocktails? Unless you ask for specific top shelf alcohol, you get crappy noname alcohol brands. For what you pay, I would not recommend this location.
