Spent a week in this resort in the off season. It has a beautiful natural Forest setting with good energy. The rooms are traditional thai settings, however the resort is a bit run down but because of the the old world charm it kind of doesn't matter so much. The beds are comfortable which is a plus. There were a few issues in regards to the room but the friendly staff went out of their way to rectify any problems. The breakfast is lovely with a beautiful view over the mountains and most of the food is cooked fresh for you. Recommended for a romantic getaway escape if you like beautiful Forest settings.

We stayed at Santhiya Koh Chang and overall had a good experience, but with some notable issues. The resort itself is beautifully designed with a lot of attention to detail. The whole area feels very unique and well thought out. The pool in our room was also larger than it appears in the photos, which was a nice surprise. The staff were very friendly, responsive, and always tried to accommodate our requests quickly. However, there were repeated problems regarding our room booking and included benefits. At check-in, we did not receive the promised 2000 THB credit per day, but only 1000 THB. After quite a bit of back-and-forth and contacting Agoda, this was eventually corrected. Unfortunately, the same issue came up again at check-out, where the credits were not properly accounted for, and we were presented with a bill of several thousand baht. We had to point it out again, which was quite frustrating. Another downside was the transfer we booked through the hotel from Koh Chang to Bangkok. Far too much time was planned, resulting in us waiting about 2 hours at Trat airport. Given that ferry connections between Koh Chang and the mainland are frequent and reliable, this felt unnecessary and poorly organized. In summary, a beautiful resort with excellent and attentive staff, but the administrative handling of bookings and transfers could definitely be improved.

This is our third stay at this resort so we obviously like it. We think it represents decent value for money. They need to sort out the main pool as it was unclean on this occasion! This is not helped by people just going straight in covered in sunscreen but then again there are no showers around the pool. The service is good & staff are always polite & very respectful. The beach isn’t the best but it’s ok. Food is generally good & not too pricey so we eat locally as well as at the resort. Breakfast is good. They’ve started charging for the once complimentary bus shuttle which is disappointing given the cost of accommodation. That said, makes no difference to us as we always hire a scooter. It’s about a 15 minute walk to The main road which has plenty of restaurants & shops. We did notice a bit of a musty smell in one of the rooms on this trip & at times the drains smelt a bit but given the temperatures it’s not surprising. I also suspect that many guests ignore the request to not put loo roll in the toilets. If you’re a mosquito target, they clearly try to control them here. The massages are very good at the spa. I have & will continue to recommend this resort if you’re visiting Koh Chang.

Beware of this hotel because they will scam you. On travel apps like Agoda, they advertise resort credits but the amount advertised isn't necessarily what you will receive. The pool suite I reserved clearly shows 2,000 bht resort fee credit (picture 1) but at check in, Santhiya says that's wrong, sorry. It's textbook bait and switch pricing. They apologize and say to contact Agoda. Excuse me? Agoda works for them selling their rooms. Agoda is their agent, their contractor, Santhiya still controls the room description, availability, and price including resort credits. Santhiya should honor the booked price for their customer. The difference without the promised resort fee credit increases the daily price by about $31 or 40% per day or $62 for a two night stay. After over an hour on phone with Agoda, they offer a total credit of $11.96 which is "the maximum we are capable of offering." All this is ok IF it was a mistake, but it wasn't. I gave both Santhiya and Agoda ample time to fix the error. Neither did. I pointed out that the "error" still exists on Agoda for other customers to get scammed (picture 2). The fact that both Agoda and Santhiya know the advertised resort credit is NOT what will be given mean they are both complicit in the scam. Do not give your money to Santhiya who is knowingly is using bait and switch pricing to scam it's customers. I anticipate their response to this post will be "not our fault, sorry. Contact Agoda." No, it is not my responsibility to spend hours of my vacation correcting YOUR error And pay a higher price for my room. The issue will only be fully resolved when the resort credit changes on the Agoda website so Santhiya doesn't continue bait and switch pricing to more customers.

Best hotel we've stayed in our 8 years in Thailand. We stayed in the pool suite with mountain view as did my mother. All of us agreed it was absolutely incredible. It's a very traditional luxurious Thai resort. It felt authentic and special. The life performances while having breakfast and dinner, the staff and everything was perfect. We're now members and will definitely be back along eith visiting their other resorts across Thailand. One thing I would note is small but I recommend giving fresh milk in the rooms not coffee mate. Only thing I could find wrong! Thanks and see you again soon
