I have been coming to this hotel for over 20 years and have always enjoyed my stays. Unfortunately, that was not the case this time. The overall standards have dropped significantly—closer to a Super 8–level motel than what this property used to be. The pool was not heated at all during our stay, despite staff insisting that it was. It felt like an ice bath. The Wi-Fi was by far the worst I have ever experienced, constantly crashing and barely usable. The hotel now has many stray cats roaming the property, along with a noticeable increase in bugs. While none were in my room, a family member did experience bugs in theirs. On top of this, the hotel now charges $10 per day for parking, which was disappointing given the condition of the grounds. The property is dirty and poorly maintained compared to past years. The only bright spot was the room service cleaners, who were absolutely fantastic—friendly, thorough, and professional. Upon checkout, I made the front desk staff aware of my concerns. They seemed uninterested, showed no concern, and simply told me to “have a good day,” which was extremely disappointing after over two decades of loyalty. A Disaster from Check-in to Check-out – Avoid at All Costs Rating: 1 / 5 I rarely feel the need to write reviews this negative, but our stay at the Rosen Inn International (7600 International Drive) was nothing short of a nightmare. For a hotel that prides itself on its location, it fails miserably on every basic standard of hospitality and maintenance. 1. The "Money Pit" Laundry Facilities The laundry situation is an absolute scam. I wasted $50 on a single load of washing because the machines simply do not work. They are broken, poorly maintained, and essentially exist just to swallow your cash. 2. Zero Accountability from Management When I brought the laundry issue to the front desk, I was met with complete indifference. I complained numerous times, only to be told it was a "third-party company" and therefore not their problem. As a paying guest, who you contract your services to is your responsibility. Passing the buck while I’m out $50 and still have wet clothes is unacceptable service. 3. The Broken Arcade It’s not just the laundry; the arcade is equally predatory. Multiple machines are broken but still active enough to take your money. It’s a consistent theme here: if there is a way for this hotel to take your money without providing the service, they’ll find it. 4. Room Conditions & Health Concerns The rooms are incredibly outdated, but that’s the least of the worries. We discovered black mold on the ceiling that had clearly just been painted over in a lazy attempt to hide it. This isn't just a maintenance issue; it’s a health hazard. The rooms feel dingy, neglected, and frankly, unsafe. 5. Faulty Room Security Even getting into your room is a chore. The door locks are temperamental and fail half the time. It took several attempts and a lot of frustration every single time we wanted to enter our room. Summary: Our complaints fell on deaf ears every single time. There was zero effort to resolve our issues or offer any form of compensation for the money we lost on their faulty equipment. We will never be returning to this property. Save your money and your sanity—stay somewhere else.

I was very happy with this room, staff, location, price, etc! At other hotels this rating, you'd expect to see a missing bulb, a wall repair, a scratched piece of furniture or a missing amenity. Not the Rosen Inn. It checked off every box. Good cable, working fridge, plenty of clean towels, comfortable beds and pillows, convenient plugs for all electronics. Furniture was up to date. The pool was beautiful and the large property had many convenient vending machines not to mention the store in the lobby area that had everything! The property was gated and seemed safe to me. If I had one thing that got my attention was people outside talking late night, but it was a weekend and I was on the bottom with a parking area near my door. I could have asked for an upper floor but it was no big deal. One other thing. The toilet in 1355 flushes slowly. It's works. Just takes a few trys. I would highly recommend this hotel and will stay again. It was a price too.

BLUF: You get what you pay for, a cheap option to stay near the Universal Parks For the price, this hotel served its purpose. The bed was relatively soft, but the pillows were 3 small squares. The room and property look outdated. The light switch in the bathroom was dripping water during a storm. Our room also had a weird quirk where you had to scan your room key to get the door to close from the outside. It is very close to all of the Universal parks, and rideshare to/from the parks was typically under $10. My main criticism lies in the shuttle service. In hindsight, I should’ve looked into this more, but a cursory search led me to believe we’d be safe booking this hotel and have transportation covered. Of the 6 trips to or from Universal, we were only able to use the shuttle once. Having stayed at a Universal Resort in the past, this shuttle service pales in comparison. It has fixed run times, some of which don’t appear to consider the park hours (Epic is open for an hour and a half after the last return shuttle). What was most frustrating was the lack of information by the staff regarding the shuttles. During our last evening, we were finally able to use the shuttle and arrived 10 minutes before the shuttle time in the pouring rain. I did not see the shuttle, so I called the hotel, and the clerk could not tell me the location of the shuttle pickup, only that they should be there on time and in the shuttle area. For future guests, pickup was behind the escalator down to the shuttle area (during our visit anyway), not with the other shuttles. This simple piece of information could have saved us an hour of frustration in a storm, contemplating paying 3x the usual rate for a rideshare.
