I'm only writing this review because of the terrible experience I had at the Mandarin restaurant. It was, without question, the worst meal I've ever had. Calling it "food" is an insult to every Chinese restaurant out there. I genuinely wouldn't have fed it to my dogs. What made it even more frustrating was that we'd paid for the all-inclusive package and had to reserve a table at this restaurant the day before, expecting a good dining experience. Instead, it was absolutely appalling. The only reason I'm not giving an even harsher review is because of the excellent service. Cheetan-Manpreet and the rest of the serving staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and understanding throughout, and they did everything they could to make the experience better. Unfortunately, the kitchen completely let them down. Whoever prepared that food seriously needs to reconsider their standards. I've had frozen meals from Lidl that tasted far better than what was served here. A genuinely awful dining experience, saved only by the waiting staff.

Convenient location, great food and amazing staff. Check-in was smooth and fast, with all details provided, thanks to Tiago. We tried both buffet restaurants: Jacs and Golden, always finding something to eat, great variety. Again, the staff always greeting with a smile, same for the cleaners. The specialty restaurants were a nice addition to the holiday, with our favorite being The Mexican, Italian and Chicken Peri Peri. A huge thanks to the guys from the snack area, boat bar and pool bars! All very attentive and kind. Unfortunately, can't recall their names. Chetan and Manpreet were great, excellent service. Leyanna from the animation team is a ⭐️ I would say that the only downside was the shower gel offered, which was of poor quality, rooms are comfy just needing some renovation. All in all we would definitely return. Good value for money.

We decided on the Mexican choice tonight and I have to say that the service and food was 10/10. We had the chicken burrito and the beef tacos. I’ve never had them that tasted this good. Just the right amount of sauces drizzled on so all the flavours weren’t compromised. We will definitely return. We have a young female waitress who was very polite. It was nice that the head chef, Chetan-Ester took time to check on the guests and see how we enjoyed our meals. It’s nice to see people take care in all areas of the service.

Loved the Mexican restaurant El Mexicano restaurant in the beautiful Muthu gardens. The staff Cheran - Madhav were very attentive and helpful and the food was delicious. We stayed in the sister hotel Muthu Forte do Vale hotel. Everything was perfect at the restaurants and hotel and the staff were lovely. Great that you can use the different MGM hotel facilities and restaurants. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for five nights on our annual lads’ golf trip. There is a lot to criticize about this hotel. In order to be charitable, I’ll start with the positives: — The room, while dated, is serviceable. The bed is OK and the air con works properly. That’s better than you can say for a lot of hotels. — There is a lovely view of the sea, and it is near the Albufeira Strip if going out is your thing. — The pool areas are fine. Now to the negatives: — I’m always conscious that, when you’re at an all-inclusive resort, you are enjoying a level of choice that most people don’t see in their lifetime. But having said that, the food at this hotel was very poor. The selection was small, and it was clearly the lowest-quality produce. Breakfast was alright, and the taco and kebab bar was quite good. Apart from that, poor. — The hotel is extremely reluctant to let people experience “all inclusive.” While you can technically have as much as you want, they are constantly putting limits on what you can take. For example, you cannot get your friends a round of drinks, as they limit it to two at a time. They won’t give you bottled water, and some of the bars are paid. They also close the main bar at 22:30 on the dot. — The vast majority of staff are from India, and many speak neither English nor Portuguese. While this isn’t a problem in and of itself, it certainly gives a weird vibe to a Portuguese holiday experience. However, the real issue is that a lot of them (although definitely not all) have a bad attitude. No smiling, no “good morning” — they just look at you like you’re a nuisance. There is a real reluctance to hand anything out. It feels like the staff have been told that the guests are a flock to be “managed” rather than looked after. — Many parts of the hotel smelled really quite bad. In our room, there were periods when the smell of sewage was really quite strong. — The room wasn’t ready until 4:30pm, and check-out was 10am. Again, it feels like they are trying to shorten your stay as much as possible. I cannot speak to the quality of other Muthu hotels, but based on this experience, I will actively avoid them in the future.
