Room was small but perfectly suited to having a place to sleep and take a shower. The restaurant is a limited menu but pretty reasonably priced. Good service all around. Parking is pricey but convenient with curb side valet. Overall a very good choice for accomodations in downtown LA.

We had our 50th birthday party at Rudolph’s Bar at the Freehand Hotel, and it was absolutely perfect! This was the second event I’ve planned with Jennifer Wong, and she is amazing—organized, responsive, and made everything so easy. The space has such a fun vibe and was the perfect setting for an unforgettable night. The drinks were delicious, the bartenders were fantastic, and everything went off without a hitch. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate. Highly recommend for anyone planning a special event!

Kevin’s service was amazing, he helped us a lot with our check in, he speaks perfect Spanish and English. The rooms are simple, not that uncomfortable, but don’t expect more and do not spect a good room service, they may or may not do the cleaning service despite my requests and my “please clean” sign (they only did it once in 4 days and told me that “they do it every other day”) there is no drinkable water on the bedrooms and they wont give you more than one bottle and only on the check in. The room wasn’t completely clean either, when we were trying to find a bottle of water, we found out a minibar with some previous guest food and sprite. The coffee is good, but way too pricey, however a great start for your day. Think about it as a “fancy-ish hostel” more than a hotel.

Arrived an hour early for check in and staff was very nice, walked me through all the amenities before showing me the way to my room. Booked a bed in a quad room (roommates!) for the experience. I was the first to arrive, upon entering there was a very musty smell. The room was very small, with the 2 bunk beds and 4 lockers making up for the entirety of the space. For the love of life I couldn't find an AC switch in the room or out in the hallway. All in all, tho dated, the bed, sheets, pillow, bathroom and shower were all very clean. Ended up heading back to the lobby / bar area to work. This area is nicely AC'd and has MANY outlets for charging, even under and at the end of the sofa sections. There's plenty of working space in this area and I believe they serve drinks in the afternoon and food in the evening and following morning. The location of the hotel is pretty good, everything is in walking distance, wholefoods, dunkin, 7th st station. I even walked from little tokyo (20min) after an event during the evening and walked to Union Station (30min) the following morning. I did not notice any noise from the busy LA weekend nightlife that other travelers mentioned (room 217). Took a glance at the pool party they have on the roof during evening hours and it's well organized and has a nice vibe. One thing to note, tho there are 3 elevators they're slow and often packed. Stairs if you can.

I was extremely impressed with this hotel. We will definitely be back. There are many things to do/places to eat around the hotel. It has a wonderful rooftop/pool. The building is gorgeous and has maintained its historic charm. We booked a king room and found it to be incredibly clean and cozy. The water pressure was the best I have ever felt in my life. Beautiful tile in the bathroom, comfortable bed, and city views. Many reviews talk negatively about the noise levels but it's downtown LA, don't expect it to be quiet. I did not find it to be loud, although there were some fireworks around 3am. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel enough!!!!
