Lovely hotel, and staff are really friendly, However, the entertainment is very poor, you pretty much entertainment yourself after your evening meal. Food - We could not fault, you could always have a plate of something to eat every night. Also different themes every night. They also have a little arcade for the kids, and they can collect tickets whilst playing, then trade them in for a prize at the end. Location- When you want to go out in the night it is a fair walk or taxi ride, to anything lively. But you do get a supermarket directly opposite the hotel. In the room- the lovely big mirror could do with some lighting as the room is very dark. There is also 2 English channels on the TV. Massive wardrobe space. Bathroom was lovely and spacious. Room key is on your wristband, which was great ( no losing it like those cards) Did have to change mine as it stopped working 5 days in, but everyone else's worked fine.

There are two hotels on this complex one being section off from the other to some extent . The 4 star part we stayed in was pretty good food and service up to what you would expect the only slight downside being the main pool area which had to many trees so a bit of restriction if you are a sun worshiper having said that there is a pool in the grounds of the other adjacent hotel which you could use. So pretty good overall. The short walk from the hotel to the restaurants and shops was not to far and there was plenty of choice there

Went mid Oct weather lovely 25-28 degrees. Really pleasant hotel very friendly staff and excellent service from one of the duty managers - think her name was Tatiana (apologies if wrong , who sorted out a room issue we had). Buffet style food , we had HB option. Breakfast was good - plenty of options- omeletes cooked to order even british style sausages. Evening options also good. Rooms were comfortable and cleaned everyday . Rainbow shower was a nice feature. Didnt use pool but plenty of sunbeds. Bit weird in that split between 2 hotels us & Royal Level ( the grounds of which we couldnt enter- but they could use our facilities). Supermarkets nearby and a good 45 minute walk to Maspalomas along a dried up canal and 25 minutes walk to Playa de Ingles - there was a free bus service to/from Maspalomas.

Enjoyed 11 nights here last week with my partner and cannot fault the hotel at all. The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean, comfortable and modern. The food was spot on. The pool areas fantastic also. My birthday also fell on one of the days of our stay and a member of staff came to my room with a bottle of champagne and a little birthday cake which was a lovely touch. Overall I couldn’t fault the hotel and would happily return in the future!

This isn't 4☆. Flew last minute with Jet2. (04/11 -11/11) Me and partner All.Inc for 1 week. Having looked at the weather for this time of year it was either Tenerife or Gran Canaria. As we had been to the superb Bacelo Playa Blanca earlier in the year we went with GC thinking this would be of similar quality. Transfer time was approximately 35 mins. The hotel is made up of two blocks.: one being normal Barcelo and the other is the Royal Level, which is adults only but will cost you more. We chose normal as there were no school holidays. The reception looks modern, and the check in was quick. You receive a wristband which includes a chip for your room door. No messing about with separate cards which was nice. Then off to the lifts and our room. And this is when you begin to see the vast difference between this hotel and their one in Playa Blanca. The lift areas and corridors take you back in time to the 1990s. There has been some redecorating, butt stairwells and corridors very tired. The fire alarm near our room had been taped up, and throughout our stay, retaped several times. Our room 6022 was what you would expect from a double room. The beds were two single ones pushed together but were comfortable. There was a large 42inch TV which was meant to have some local and English channels but this could not be tuned in. This didn't bother me as I could stream these from my tablet to the TV. Usual tea , coffee and mini fridge which isn't stocked. We did receive sandwiches and a drink though as we arrived after dinner service had ceased. Bathroom was quite spacious but was beginning to look tired, needs some improvements like the sealant and fittings that had come away. The extractor fan didn't work and if you are not a fan of glass doors on the toilet (heavily frosted) then this may not be for you. Balcony was a reasonable size. The Manhattan bar on the ground floor hasn't seen any improvement since it was built. It's the full length of the building and consists of battered wicker furniture that wouldn't be out of place in your nan's conservatory and is just soulless. The outside bar , Breeze Bar. This has seats around the end of the pool area and has a well stocked bar. But AI options are limited. There are self service facilities for soft drinks, tea, coffee and lager (tho this did have a funny taste, lines need definitely cleaning). This is meant to be a Sports bar with two TVs . Only one worked and this mainly showed Spanish sport only. You can also get some snacks on the AI here like crisps, however we did see a members of staff go to fill this up at night for a manager to tell them no. At the back of this bar there is a snack bar for those who are AI. This is mostly leftovers from the previous day or burgers and hotdogs left out all day. This is available for a limited time. Breakfast has the usual AI stuff, but as is the norm with AI nothing is pipping hot, but there is a microwave to use. There are 2 main pool areas and a small kids pool. I have to say both are quite small; there are plenty of sunbeds but in the main pool at this time of year half are always in the shade. So we used the family pool but if you are an early rider you will be locked out till after 9.30 and that's for sunbathing not just swimming. The family pool, there is a bar that opens after 10 with the same drinks and facilities. Like the other pool there are plenty of sunbeds but they are crammed in. Not too much of a problem this quiet time of year but in the summer you would definitely get to know your neighbor's. Like I have said the pools are quite small especially once again compared to that in Playa Blanca. In addition the pools themselves need some maintenance as the lining has come away from the floor. They are also meant to be heated from 01/11 , but as confirmed by a lifeguard this hadn't happened. Lunch and evening meals were what you would expect. Nothing great or terrible. Rehashed leftovers from earlier servings. Overall enjoyed the sun and relaxation but this isn't a 4☆ hotel. Try Playa Blanca for the same cost.
