My husband and I recently celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary in Oman. One of the places we visited was the “Green Mountain” and we stayed at the Anantara Al Jabal Akhdar Resort for a few days, which was, in one word… magical. First, the resort and its surrounding is both beautiful, peaceful, and awe-inspiring. This is a place where you can emotionally and mentally get refreshed and rejuvenated while appreciating nature’s mightiness. Second, the staff were so warm, welcoming, and professional. From Inja at the front desk who reminded me of a classic movie star with impeccable manners, Shabuddin who made sure our room was always a haven for us to come back to after our day tours and displayed his great sense of humor (see towel doggy with my sunglasses on), to Maher who gave us an amazing, fun, final tour of Al Sugwra where we learned a lot about people’s day-to-day lives in Al Jabal Akhdar… The cherry on the top was how the staff at the front entrance, including Inja, formed a little line to wave us good-bye. Even though this might sound like nothing, I will remember that moment for the rest of my life… I have stayed a many 5-star hotels and resorts both personally and professionally, and I cannot highly recommend enough Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhadar. When you arrive, stay, and leave the resort, you feel like… Okay… I have made it in life.

Beautiful sanctuary in the clouds. Simply breathtaking. Most wonderful hotel we’ve ever stayed at. Staff were impeccable in their service and friendliness, particularly Nelly at the Bella Vista restaurant. Would highly recommend a stay. We far preferred the food at the Bella Vista to that at the Arabian restaurant. Also loved the bikes free for use around the resort. What further impressed us was the animal welfare priorities of this hotel. All cats we spotted looked well cared for and healthy unlike at other resorts we’ve been to. This really made our stay even more comfortable and we will most certainly be back knowing we are supporting a brand that exhibits compassion and kindness.

An absolutely exceptional stay. The service was outstanding from start to finish, with genuine care and attention in every detail. The food was incredibly good, and the team handled allergies with real confidence and thoughtfulness, which made us feel completely at ease. It is difficult to thank everyone enough. There were special touches throughout that made the experience feel truly personal and memorable. The views are breathtaking, the atmosphere is calm and beautiful, and the team are simply fantastic. This place made our time in Oman feel very special. Without doubt one of the best places in Oman. The only downside was my birthday breakfast, which after confirming multiple times, including the evening prior, they forgot the cake, did not serve us coffee in a timely manner, and did not decorate the table as requested. Slighly dissapointing, but was definitely made up by the reception team who really made me feel special. A great thanks to the beautiful lady from Indonesia who assisted me at checkout! Additionally, the hotel shop (Anantara, not the local goods store). The lady working there was rude, dismissive, and often not present. Even when called, it took around forty minutes for her to arrive, and we eventually had to go to reception. When we attempted to make a purchase, she asked, “What do you want?” which felt quite abrupt. This behaviour was completely out of line with the rest of the team and the standard of service elsewhere in the hotel.

The Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar is easily one of the most stunning properties I’ve stayed at. The location is breathtaking and the facilities are top-tier, but what actually makes a stay here 5-star is the service culture. You expect luxury, but the work ethic here is on another level. The standout for me was Mr. Ghosh. The team and myself were working very late, and he was incredible helping us set up the conference room at 1:00 AM - totally attentive and quick with every request we threw at him. When I saw him again for room service at 3:00 AM, he was just as professional. I was in the middle of a stressful work crunch, and his demeanor was so calm, respectful, and chill. He knew exactly how to be supportive without being intrusive. 'Ghosh Babu' is a hardworking legend.

I paid for a day pass to have access to the pool. Fantastic place, probably the best pool in the world. The views are incredible, the water Tº of the pool is at 30 Cº, very confortable for swimming in November. There are also 2 hot tubs. Panoramic views from the pool and the glass belvederes. Showers etc. The gardens of this hotel are nicer than a botanical garden. The architecture and facilities are WoW. Includes water bottle, sun chair, towels and fruit hors d'oeuvres. If you think the price looks steep, don't forget you can use the total amount you paid as a credit in the resort restaurant. It is an amazing experience you should not miss.
