7 night family holiday for 3 adults at the end of May 2026.half board. Amazing hotel…stayed in a room for 2/3 people, garden/pool view. It was very spacious with great wardrobe/storage space. Very modern and spotless clean. Beds were spacious and really comfy. Garden areas and 2 pools were great, with bars and a supermarket. Food was was lovely with plenty of choice available. The entertainment team were welcoming and friendly…. fun games during the day and great evening shows. The hotel is really close to the beach/sand dunes, shops, bars and restaurants….a free shuttle bus is available. Fantastic 4 star hotel… I would definitely recommend 🙂

This is already our sixth time staying here with our friends, and every year we have an amazing experience again. The rooms are always very clean and tidy, and the staff is incredibly kind and helpful. The people working at the bar are always friendly and smiling, which makes the atmosphere even more special. The food is absolutely perfect, with a delicious and varied selection every day. The hotel has a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere, which is why we always love coming back. We love this place so much that we already know we will return for the seventh time on October 31, 2026!

Wow. Can’t explain how good this place is, especially for the price. We’re right in the heart of the action of the Irish Centre in GC with great bars and restaurants around. The food has been mostly great, can’t complain at all for a 4 star. What I will say, as a grown adult, is the animation team are bloody brilliant. They are so much fun and they include absolutely everyone of all ages. It’s obviously a bit quiet in Jan, but they still put the effort in and bring the energy. JJ, Vivi, Miguel, Sophie et al are all brilliant. Overall the staff have been amazing, all very polite and appreciated my very broken attempt at speaking Spanish. I will definitely be returning here.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Abora Buenaventura, and a huge part of that was thanks to Elena, Sophie, Nerea, Janina, Alberto, and Bence. They were all incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always smiling. From day one, they made us feel at home and went above and beyond to create a warm, family-like atmosphere. The activities they organised were unique, fun, and engaging for both adults and children. What really stood out was how they took the time to learn our names and our children's names, making every interaction feel personal and genuine. They were especially wonderful with our kids. Even when they didn't win games or activities, the team always made them feel included, encouraged, and valued. Their kindness, patience, and positive energy meant so much to us as parents and helped create unforgettable memories for our family. Thank you all for your hard work, enthusiasm, and for making our holiday so special. We will always remember the amazing experience you gave us! I would also like to give special recognition to the housekeeping team. The lady who cleaned our room throughout our stay was incredibly kind, friendly, and always willing to help whenever we had questions. She respected all of our requests regarding the room, and everything was kept spotless and immaculate every single day. Her hard work and attention to detail did not go unnoticed and really contributed to our positive experience. The only negative point of our stay has nothing to do with the staff, but rather with the hotel's policy regarding the room safe. As someone who has travelled extensively throughout Spain and many other countries, this is the first time I have encountered a hotel that charges guests to use the safe. The hotel states that it is not responsible for lost items from the room, which makes it even more surprising that a basic security feature such as a safe is not included in the room price. Charging €2 per day for the safe feels unnecessary, especially considering guests are already required to leave a security deposit upon arrival. In my opinion, a safe should be a standard amenity that helps guests feel their valuables are protected during their stay. This is not a criticism of the staff, who were excellent throughout our holiday, but I do believe hotel management should review this policy, as it does not align with the level of service provided by the rest of the team. Overall, we had a wonderful stay thanks to the dedication and kindness of the staff, and we hope management will consider improving this aspect of the guest experience. Second time visiting this hotel and as before we had a great time. Again a few niggles but that's all they are. I think the check-in time takes too long. I don't understand why they can't get all the information required from the travel partner beforehand so, all we as the customer needs to do is sign the form and get our keys. This would save everyone a lot of time! It's also worth noting you have to pay a 50Euro deposit for the room which we weren't told about. The towels in the room are not great. Either take your own or be prepared to wonder around the room with a towel that doesn't wrap around you fully. There are cats that have been adopted by the hotel. Whilst not wild, they do have free roam of the place including the food halls so if you have cat allergies, maybe avoid! The food was fantastic, breakfast lunch and dinner all had a great variety every day. The food hall runs a great system of table either being open (take a seat) or closed (someone has gone for food) Only once did someone ignore our closed sign and take our table. Pool areas were clean and there were always plenty of sunbeds available at all times of the day. The entertainment team are great. Plenty going on around the pool areas encouraging you to get involved in the games but, will leave you alone if you say no thanks. All together, we had a great time and if we were to visit GC again, this hotel would certainly get our vote.
