We had our wedding ceremony at the reception hall of Tangerine Beach Hotel in June 2025, and it was truly a wonderful experience. From the very beginning, the staff supported us in many ways from planning the menu to arranging every detail of our big day. All the team members were extremely friendly, flexible, and helpful, making our wedding day truly memorable. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere created by the lighting inside the reception hall was beautiful. Our wedding was a ceremonial navy wedding, and the team was very cooperative in ensuring all navy traditions were perfectly followed, exactly as we requested. They were also very flexible with flower arrangements and other decorations. One big positive point was that the bar area and buffet area were separated from the main wedding hall, which helped maintain a smooth and elegant flow during the ceremony. We also stayed one night for our honeymoon at Tangerine Beach Hotel. The room was spacious, very clean, and well maintained, with a lovely beach facing view. The only downside we noticed was that the bathroom was a bit small. During our stay, the food served in the restaurant was great, with a wide variety of options and live stations. Overall, we would like to sincerely thank the management and staff of Tangerine Beach Hotel for making our wedding day so perfect and unforgettable. Highly recommended for weddings and special occasions!

I stayed at Tangerine Beach Hotel a few months ago, and overall it was a pleasant experience. ♥ The hotel is beautiful and close to the beach. The green gardens and ocean view make the place feel calm and relaxing. The room was clean and cozy. ♥ The hotel has a large swimming pool, which is deeper than most pools in the area, and there is also a separate pool for kids. From the outside, the hotel looks very nice, with good landscaping, a stylish interior, and many great spots for photos. The food was good, and both the rooms and common areas were kept clean. The stay felt peaceful and comfortable. ♨ Things that can improve: Service organization could be better. Although the staff are friendly and polite, coordination is limited, and ⚠ food service can be slow even when the hotel is not busy. ⚠ With better training and management, the service experience could be much smoother. Overall: ♥ Tangerine Beach Hotel is a good place to relax, with a lovely location, clean rooms, and a nice atmosphere. With better staff management and faster service, it could be an excellent hotel.

Really enjoyed my weekend stay at the hotel. It’s a beautiful property and was a relaxing quiet holiday as we wanted it to be. The food was extremely tasteful and the staff was also very helpful and attentive. The pool with the bar area is a great way to spend the day time. It’s not the most modern hotel but that was expected when we booked it. Also it’s not far from Colombo so easy to get to. It truly was a lovely weekend and it gives a cosy vibe. Always will recommend if you want an easy get away with a welcoming feel. The Spa facility was great, we pre booked it and was a good experience. Only down side is there is no direct beach access due to the location.

We stayed at Hotel Tangerine in December, and the pool experience was absolutely unacceptable. I was enjoying the pool with my husband. There were foreign guests as well. Unfortunately, the behavior of the lifeguard in charge was extremely inappropriate and uncomfortable. There was another man with him, possibly a helper. Both of them continuously stared at us because I was wearing a two-piece swimsuit. This should not be an issue, especially in a hotel pool area, and it is not unusual to see local guests dressed this way. Their constant staring made us feel very uncomfortable and completely ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing moment. Even after I came out of the pool, they continued staring at me. We clearly noticed this behavior, and due to the discomfort and nervousness it caused, I slipped and fell on the floor. This experience was very disappointing. I strongly urge the management to educate their staff on proper behavior and professionalism when dealing with guests. I was able to capture a photo of the lifeguard in the morning, and I am willing to share it. I do NOT recommend Hotel Tangerine to anyone who wants to relax, feel respected, and enjoy their stay without being harassed or judged. If you value your comfort and dignity, avoid this hotel.

I had a pleasant stay at Tangerine Beach Hotel, Kalutara. The buffet was a highlight of the experience—very delicious food with a wide variety of options to choose from, catering to different tastes. The rooms are slightly outdated in terms of design; however, they were well cleaned, tidy, and comfortable throughout the stay. One interesting and unique feature I noticed was the water bottle system in the rooms—the bottles were sealed, and the bottle opener was placed in the bathroom. This was the first time I experienced such a system in a hotel, and it was quite impressive. The property itself is spacious, allowing guests to enjoy a comfortable stay both inside the rooms and in the outdoor areas. The beach view is very pleasing and relaxing. However, direct access to the beach is not possible for swimming, as the shoreline is rocky and does not have a swimmable beach area. Additionally, the hotel offers ample parking space, and wheelchair-accessible washrooms are available within the property, which is a great plus. Overall, this property can be confidently recommended to other guests looking for a comfortable and relaxing stay.
