Where do I even start… We chose Jolly Beach for my 30th birthday celebration and we were not disappointed. Yes, the rooms might be a bit run-down or basic, but the resort itself is pretty good. The food was decent – I would have appreciated a better selection – but the drinks were good enough to make you forget about the food. The pools were clean and, to be honest, most of the time almost empty. The place wasn’t packed, maybe because we visited during hurricane season. The buffet and grill are good enough to keep you fed during the day, and after dinner everyone gathers around the long bar, where we met some very nice people. Evening entertainment (singers, live music, karaoke) adds to the great atmosphere. I found the staff very friendly and helpful, especially the long bar staff and the ladies at the omelette station. The information desk staff are absolute legends too! We had some issues with an excursion we booked externally (not through the Jolly Beach Resort), but they still tried their best to sort things out with the agents, making phone calls and helping us book taxis. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. This was one of the cheapest holiday packages we found, but it still exceeded our expectations. Yes, there’s always room for improvement, but we both had an amazing time!

My overall experience was quite mixed. To begin with, the check-in experience was disappointing. The receptionist was not welcoming and seemed quite impatient, especially with older guests. There was a noticeable lack of warmth and professionalism, and very little effort was made to provide useful information about the hotel. In fact, no general information was given at check-in, and there were no informational materials in the room either, which left us quite uninformed about basic services and facilities. The food was another major downside. Both dinner and breakfast were of very low quality, with limited choice and poor overall standards. Unfortunately, this was one of the weakest aspects of the stay. On the positive side, most of the other staff members were very friendly and polite, which helped improve the atmosphere. Only the reception experience stood out negatively in this regard. The beach is beautiful, with a stunning view and clear water, which is definitely one of the highlights of the resort. However, the structure itself is quite dated, and the rooms reflect this clearly. They feel old and could benefit from renovation, as well as improved cleanliness standards. Overall, while the location and beach are impressive, the hotel itself is in need of significant improvements, particularly in service quality, food, and room maintenance.

Here's a polished version of your review: I have traveled to several resorts over the years, and this was by far the worst resort I have ever stayed at. The entire property is outdated and in desperate need of renovations. My room door did not feel secure because the handle was loose, which was concerning, especially as a solo female traveler. The hotel does not use a key card system, which made the security concerns even greater. The television service was very limited. If you wanted to watch a sporting event or access better channels, you had to go to the bar because the reception there was much better than in the rooms. There was also no daily entertainment offered during my stay. Housekeeping was another major disappointment. Rooms are not cleaned daily unless you pay an additional $10 USD and notify the hotel in advance. This is something guests should be made aware of before booking. The food was mediocre at best. Fresh juices were not available; only concentrated juices were served. The one bright spot was Myra, who prepared omelets each morning. She was friendly, welcoming, and even remembered guests' orders. She provided the best customer service experience at the resort. The lighting around the property at night was inadequate, making it feel unsafe. The bathrooms and showers were outdated, and there were mosquitoes in the room throughout my stay. Even the drinking glasses appeared old and worn, as though they had been in service for years and were not properly maintained. Overall, I would not recommend this resort. Between the outdated facilities, security concerns, additional housekeeping charges, poor food quality, and lack of entertainment, this was a very disappointing experience.

Jolly Beach Resort, Antigua. I was looking forward to write a good review, and this one surpassed my expectations. Let me start with the reception, excellent customer service, Kiara was very knowledgeable about her work and extremely helpful and accommodating. 5 stars. The Beach is gorgeous, miles and miles of white sand serenaded by the soft sound of the Caribbean Sea, perfect heat from the sun and very confortable weather. 5 stars. The room was good, on the third floor (no elevator) spacious king size bed and eventhough the shower is very small, the room has a great balcony overlooking the beaches. I don't smoke but I was second-hand smoking(cigar and herb) the whole week. 4.5 stars. The common dinning room could be presented with more aesthetics. The entire area smelled mossy, there are flies and birds on the outside . The food was very tasty though, especially the curry goat on Caribbean Night (Friday). In my humble opinion there should be more than one "Caribbean Night" per week, at a Caribbean Resort. I will recommend fans and "bug exterminators". 3 stars. The Hotel does have a very nice a la carte restaurant, where you can, in advance, order Lobster for dinner. I highly recommend waiting in line for reservations from 7am. Ms Margaret is very kind and wonderfully efficient. Listen to her, she will always lead you to the right stuff. 5 starts. The biggest disappointment of all, no WiFi in the bedroom, only in the common areas close to reception. Logistically, this is easy to rectify in 2026. Made me wonder if we were still living in the 1990s. Also, the viewing programming on the TV is a lot to be desired. If you're looking to stay in that day and want to catch up on the world stage, you'll be disappointed. Recommend streaming apps for the TV, but you would require WIFi, which is lacking. In this day and age, what resort/hotel does not provide free WiFi to their customers?!?!? 1 Star. Apart from the latter, an absolutely wonderful (first time) experience. So with that said, the resort is awarded 4 stars

The beach, the sea and the views are the reason to come here, it’s beautiful here. We were greeted by friendly staff and delicious rum punch drinks on arrival, check in was quick and we were on our way to our room, we chose to stay on a higher floor because we don’t mind stairs and like the view from a higher floor. We could easily walk to the beach, restaurants and pool. ( I wouldn’t recommend this for older persons who cannot easily climb stairs ) But they do have ground floor rooms. This beach is beautiful, perfect for long beach walks and a very relaxing environment. I do think they could add more of the in water rings that you can lay in and relax, because those do get busy and people tend to stay in them for hours at a time. I would also suggest having pool noodles and other items guests can enjoy during the day at the pool. ( no one wants to buy these items because you can’t take them with you) There are plenty of loungers and built in shade shelters, we never felt like we had to fight with others for a spot on the beach. ( which is the worst feeling when your trying to enjoy your vacation ) There are two pools, one shallow pool, the quiet pool for a cool down and reading area. Then there is the main pool with a swim up bar, fountain, hot tub, volleyball area and a restaurant right at the pool. The pool restaurant offers a few hot options during the day if you don’t want to leave the beach area for lunch at the buffet. The one thing I would recommend is that they offer fresh fruit as well at this restaurant because it would elevate the experience. The beach bar is busy, but the staff are friendly and service is fairly quick. I would bring a travel drink container with a lid ( Stanley Cup) so you can avoid getting sand in your drinks on windy days. Breakfast was definitely our favourite meal and they had omlet and pancake stations at the buffet to order yours with the toppings of your choice. My honest opinion is that if you came for the beach, you will love Jolly Beach!
