We stayed at Hotel Ziva for 4 nights as a group of three families, each with a 5-year-old child. I don’t usually choose all-inclusive resorts, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional quality of both the service and the overall experience. A special thank you to our personal concierge, Trini, who truly made our stay outstanding. From the moment we arrived, he introduced himself, sent us a daily schedule of activities, and was always available to help with any special requests or accommodations. His attentiveness made everything seamless and allowed us to relax and enjoy our vacation. The highlight of the trip for me was definitely the food. Every meal exceeded my expectations, and the quality was excellent. The French restaurant and Casa Cortez were my personal favorites, offering delicious food and wonderful service. Traveling with young children can be challenging, but the resort was incredibly family-friendly. The pool was perfect for kids, and the Kids Club staff were warm, engaged, and genuinely caring. Our children looked forward to spending time there every day. Overall, Hotel Ziva exceeded my expectations in every way. Between the outstanding service, excellent dining, and family-friendly atmosphere, it was a memorable vacation that I would happily recommend to families and anyone looking for a high-quality all-inclusive experience.

I’ve stayed at many resorts and hotels in Cabo, and one thing is always consistent—the Mexican hospitality is incredible. The people are warm, welcoming, and truly make every stay enjoyable. I’ve experienced great service, food, and locations at most places I’ve visited. That said, while this resort had some positive aspects, it was not my favorite—especially considering the price point. I expected it to stand out more compared to other resorts in the area. One area for improvement would be the availability of shaded seating around the pool. Guests shouldn’t have to wake up extremely early just to secure a comfortable, shaded spot. Additionally, the alcoholic drinks at the pool bar were disappointing despite trying a variety of options. On the other hand, the drinks at the lounge were excellent and much more enjoyable. The service throughout the resort was friendly and attentive, and the juice bar was a standout—fresh, delicious, and a great addition. I also appreciated the fact that the staff was not overly pushy on trying to sell their vacation club options, which made for a more relaxed experience overall. With a few improvements, this resort has the potential to better match its price and deliver a more well-rounded experience.

Family and I had a great time. Ocean view room had an incredible view for us. The room was good but the over head shower nozzle didn't work. The restaurants were decent and the buffet options were pretty good. Only thing that would've made it better would be the addition of entertainment options. The kids water park is really intended for small kids. Any kid above 6-7 years old will get bored of it in about 20 minutes. All staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay again

Honestly, when I booked this hotel, my biggest concern was that we might regret our choice once we arrived or that we would get bored during our 8-night stay. However, from the moment we arrived, the hotel exceeded all of our expectations.The grounds were beautiful, clean, and very well maintained. The restaurants were spotless and offered excellent food quality. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the housekeeping service was consistently great.There were nightly entertainment shows, which made our evenings enjoyable, and the kids’ playground was fantastic. The staff working there were kind, patient, and wonderful with children. The pool and kids’ play areas were also very nice.The only small issue was the lack of canopies or shaded areas around the children’s pool area, as the morning sun could be quite strong for the kids.Overall, we had an amazing stay and truly enjoyed our vacation. We would like to thank the management and all the staff for making our stay so memorable. We are confident that we will return to this hotel again in the future.

Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos has a beautiful location and some genuinely excellent employees, but the overall guest experience fell far below what I expect from a five-star Hyatt. The positives deserve recognition. The beachfront setting overlooking the Sea of Cortez is beautiful and peaceful. The grounds are spacious and well maintained, the resort smells wonderful throughout, and the food was outstanding. Mahika served exceptional Indian cuisine (the lamb korma was excellent), Bon Vivant provided fantastic service, and La Plaza was one of the best buffets I’ve ever experienced with an incredible variety of high-quality food in a pristine setting. The restaurant staff consistently delivered the best service we received during our stay. Unfortunately, the problems began immediately at check-in. As a Hyatt Explorist member staying in a Club Deluxe One-Bedroom Oceanfront Suite, there was no acknowledgment of my loyalty status, no discussion of benefits, and no recognition of my birthday despite the hotel asking in advance whether we were celebrating a special occasion. The room we were initially assigned was advertised as oceanfront but overlooked a large rooftop that blocked much of the ocean view. After raising the issue, we were shown a penthouse upgrade that would have cost another $2,100 for three nights, but the first thing I saw upon entering was a enormous dead cockroach on the living room floor. We declined immediately. Eventually we received the correct oceanfront room on a higher floor, but not until 5 p.m., meaning we lost much of our arrival day waiting. We were also told our luggage would be transferred automatically, only to discover hours later it had been left unattended in our original room, requiring us to retrieve it with the bellman. The room itself was clean, spacious, comfortable, and had beautiful views once we were finally moved. Our premium “butler” service was also disappointing. Our assigned butler never introduced himself in person and communicated only through WhatsApp with slow response times. We only realized who he was after recognizing his name badge while riding an elevator together. Perhaps most surprising was the lack of orientation at check-in. Nobody explained where the Club Lounge, adults-only pool, fitness center, or other amenities were located. We spent our first day wandering the property and asking other employees for directions. For approximately $3,000 over three nights, I expected attentive, polished service worthy of the Hyatt brand. Instead, the experience felt disorganized and impersonal. The outstanding food and hardworking restaurant staff deserved five stars, but the arrival experience and premium guest services significantly diminished what should have been a luxury vacation. After I completed the survey, I received a respond that included, “We apologize for your perception of our service during your stay and hope to see you during your next visit.” This feels condescending. I won’t be returning, and unfortunately I can’t recommend this property based on my experience, especially since it fell so far below the standards of an elevated Hyatt property.
