According to the locals, this was once the city’s first luxury hotel, but today it feels like a throwback to the 90s. While you’ll still find plenty of gilding, heavy carpets, and massive chandeliers, the style is dated rather than modern. ​Location & Views ​Location: The hotel is situated right next to the stunning Heydar Aliyev Center, which is a plus for walks and photo opportunities. ​Views: Upper floors offer a beautiful panoramic view of the city. ​Dining & Breakfast ​The Buffet: Rated as "average." There is a decent selection, but it’s quite standard and repeats daily. ​Quality: You’ll find fresh vegetables, cheeses, and made-to-order eggs, but foodies might find it a bit boring. On the bright side, they serve honeycomb and two types of porridge. ​Amenities ​Pool: It appears to be out of service—it wasn't offered or mentioned during the stay.

Excellent Stay at European Hotel Baku Highly Recommended! As an Australian guest, we had the pleasure of staying at Grand European Hotel Baku from 29th December 2025 to 8th January 2026, and we must say it was a truly satisfying experience. The staff were extremely polite and professional throughout our stay. I would especially like to thank Ms. Elnara, who provided our room service, she was always kind, attentive, and helpful in every way. The hotel facilities were excellent. We particularly enjoyed the massage service, which was one of the best I’ve experienced. A special thanks to Ms. Ruhieh for her outstanding and professional massage therapy, we highly recommend all guests to try her service! The reception team was also very helpful and welcoming. Mr. Kanan at the front desk provided us with great support and information whenever needed. The breakfast buffet was varied, fresh, and delicious, and overall, the hotel atmosphere was warm and very comfortable. We truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Grand European Hotel Baku to anyone visiting the city. Looking forward to staying here again in the future!

The hotel is quiet and clean. The room is medium. No shataf in the bathroom but the toilet is Turkish style so no real need for shataf. The restaurant is somehow small compared to the guests. The breakfast is good with a variety of dishes and drinks.

hotel is ok , dusty curtains , dusty beds and pillows the sink is almost clogged slow the shower is suddenly hot water then cold water , the buffet is ok but not for me and location is not the best however is quite and safe and friendly staff but overrated not luxury
